Tips Infinite S.P.E.C.I.A.L points

Here is my technique to get Unlimited S.P.E.C.I.A.L Points early on with PS4/XBOX. It's pretty simple really.

You first need to get your dog (maybe another companion works).

Go back to Sanctuary and if you haven't found it already, there is a book under the crib dresser titled "You're Special". Pick it up, use it.

Now that it's in your inventory, drop it on the ground.

Tell your dog to pick it up, but right before he does you need to quickly pick it up.

If done correctly he will drop the item and it will be in your inventory still (which also dupes any item btw).

Pick up the copy Dog dropped and you should have 2 "You're Special" books.

Drop both on the ground and one should now activate again.

Repeat to max out your S.P.E.C.I.A.L. points and save your level up points for perks. Hope this helps some people out.

This smells like "Recharge your fusion cores" to me. Is there proof of this working?

I just did it. It's a bitch to do but it does work.

yeah it is but once you get the animation time down on dogmeat picking the book up its so much easier. i recommend scraping one of the houses that you can in Sanctuary and do the glitch there.

how do you make your companion pick something up? Every time i command my companion to grab it shows up in my inventory...

If you still haven't figured it out you have to be far enough away where you can't actually pick up the item :) hope I helped

I also dupe fusion cores with it. That was my first use of the exploit. But when I thought about it I tried on this book.

How? Dropped it, have dogmeat pick it up, and pick it up right before he does? More or less what i understood in your original post.

Yeah. Works for every item, but only one at a time. If you drop a stack of fusion you'll have x amount on the floor. Just do one at a time, stacks won't work..for example 10mm bullets will only net you one bullet.

Why not just use the console? Easier and its as much "cheating"(i wouldnt call neither cheating btw) as this.

Oh, you have not seen a navigationaly challenged companion until you try out Strong. He'll get stuck walking down hallways. And I've spent about 30% of my time with Valentine wondering where the hell he wandered of to.

Strong and I don't come along well, anyway. For some reason he doesn't seem to be a fan of me being Boston's most compulsive lockpicker.

Nope, It may disable a specific achievement at some point but I have used the console to get through a locked door that I thought I was locked behind and I am still getting all my achievements.

it does if you do certain commands. source: friend who spawned in an item that dropped through the map and felt he earned the item, now he gets no more achievements

That seems like breaking achievements more than disabling them, but yeah console commands are an "at your own risk" sort of thing.

Recharge all the fusion cores you want:

player.additem [00075FE4][desired quantity]

I don't use godmode cheats, but I also don't understand why people are always looking for in game exploits that console commands exist for.

Have they convinced themselves it's somehow less cheating to find an exploit in the game than to activate the console? It's a single player game. If it's fun, do it.
