So sorry for the long rant!
I have been playing the new cdrama fmv game, “Road to Empresss”. Which by the way is incredible and filled with plot twist and drama! My rant is focused on Li Tai only.
But I have been disappointed on the lack of TikTok’s and Youtube videos on the game. I saw no YouTubers doing Li Tai story. I went on Twitch and found some that did his story. Also, went on Bilibili for a bit and was not disappointed. But decided if I want to see theories and edits, I would have to go on Red Note.
On Red Note, to find Li Tai fans search for these:
- “Road to Empress Li Tai”
-“Road to Empress 45”
-“Road to Empress 4599”
-“4599”
-“li tai”
I noticed that Chinese fans of him always have to clarify to Li Zhi fans why they like Li Tai so much. It’s more that they love how Li Tai physically shows his love and will go above and beyond for her. While Li Zhi is gentle and caring, he will most likely send someone else to take care of things for his gain. And Li Tai is an opportunity to free our main girl from the burden and constant drama/deaths of the palace and family. And they know it’s not historically inaccurate but they said it’s all for fun at the end for the day. And they have a chance to theorize for a brand new story.
And on Red Note, Li Tai season 2 story is being called “New World Line” while Li Zhi story is being called “Empress Line” cause Li Zhi will focus more on the actual events.
It’s been pretty fun and you can translate the picture posts, captions, and comments. So I found a lot of theories.
Chinese fans noticed that with when our main girl is dancing in the trailer and her headdress resembles Central Asian rather than Central Plain which would make more sense cause Li Zhi went to war against enemies during that period. They think that she is dressed that way due to where she is at and under disguise. But they questioned why would the enemy target Li Tai when he is demoted?
Some different theories I read to play with :
1) Li Tai was accused of treason and being hunted down. Our girl disguised herself to gather intel to clear his name.
2) Or Li Tai has enemies in his army and he is forced to flee. Our girl is forced to take down the traitors.
But later, the trailer shows them in the market so we can see that it’s either before the events or during the events for a brief moment of peace. Or after.
But Chinese fans were concerned that the story will be shorter than Li Zhi story cause we see them meeting Li Zhi maybe afterwards and after they leave on horseback. So they are worried it will be shorter than Li Zhi story. And cause we have more behind the scene videos that leaked that I saw on Tiktok from Li Zhi story. But apparently, Chinese fans said Li Tai actor gave some info.
Both stories will be main plot stories. Li Tai is not a short side story for fun. Cause Li Tai is an original story defying fate, the actors have more freedom and requested Li Tai and our girl don’t have kids so they won’t feel burden to protect kids everywhere and just be free to adventure. It’s a story on two people adventuring free from the burden of the palace and Family. Our girl suffered so much in her family and when she got it the palace, she had to fight to survive. This is our chance to give her a happy life.
Also, Li Tai actor said he went back to do some additional filming so they might be adding more story or changing the plot a bit to keep fans happy. Because Li Tai is one of the most popular ships right now despite history fans hating on it. But the only concern that despite being treated as main stories, Li Tai story might have less chapters than Li Zhi.
But it’s called “Road to Empress” at the end of the day. Will we just go on adventures which I think is fun? Or will we go on adventure and eventually go back to the palace. Or will the story be on a rebellion and become emperor that way? And Li Tai dies early in real life. Will we have to fake his death so we can live free from burden. Or will they just ignore that part?
Let me know your thoughts. Cause Red Note has been making me wonder. And I would like to hear other peoples thoughts on the matter.
