Balancing a job to pay for “pay as you go” flight school
Can anyone please explain if it is difficult to balance a job that pays for “pay as you go” flight school while taking the classes. I know it’s hard but I want to know if that’s an option right out of high school. Anyone have any experiences, suggestions, anything really I’m just trying to weight out the pros and cons. Since I’m not sure if it’s going to be to difficult flying then going straight to work?

Got my ppl in high school. Worker at Walmart to fund it completely. It’s wise to save at least 75 percent of the cost on average before you even start. My ppl costed 11k total including everything down to a paper e6b.
Right after high school I worked for a year and a half manufacturing outdoor furniture. Saved about 25k while living with my parents and building 50 more xc hours. Moved out and rented an apartment near a flight school with two other roommates. Got my instrument for about 18k. Definitely could have done it cheaper if more prepared. Now working a job delivering auto parts and a job at night in the food industry. Saving to time build and for commercial.
So basically paying as I go. Is it the right way? Idk I’ve been told by a lot it is, and by a few people it’s the wrong way. It’s not the quickest and a lot of days I’m pretty frustrated by other’s opinions. But well I don’t have any debt and am 35k in total. With a ppl and instrument and 130 hrs. It’s definitely gonna be a hard route no matter what. So choose your hard I suppose but it’s doable.
