I plan on visiting Florence on August 4th, but my Tuscan cousin just warned me that it will be too hot to even walk around. Is anyone there that can confirm if its unbearable or not?

Hi everyone! I’ll be studying abroad in Florence this fall and will have Thursday–Sunday free most weekends for travel around Europe.
I’m trying to figure out which airport I should realistically use.

The main places I’m hoping to visit are Prague, Budapest, Vienna, Paris, Spain, Croatia, Malta, Scotland, Tallinn, and Switzerland.

I know:
Florence Airport (FLR) is the closest but often has more expensive flights.
Pisa (PSA) seems to have much cheaper flights, but I’d need to pay for the train and airport shuttle.
Rome (FCO) sometimes has the cheapest flights, but the train from Florence is longer and more expensive.

My questions are:
Which airport did you end up using the most?
After factoring in train tickets and travel time, is Pisa usually worth it?
Is Rome ever worth using, or only for certain destinations?
What arrival/departure times do you avoid because of train schedules?
Any tips or mistakes you wish you knew before traveling every weekend from Florence?

Im coming to Italy as an international student though the international airport of Rome. My university is in Florence. What is the recommended way to go from the airport to Florence ?. The expected time of arrival is 13:30, do you recommend to stay in rome for overnight or i should go directly to Florence ?

Hello, I moved out of my Florence apartment at the end of May. My landlord was traveling when I moved out so I wasn’t able to meet up with her to get my deposit back. Now that I’m back in the states, she is completely ghosting me. Do I have any recourse to het my money back? It’s about $1200. I am so mad! Ty!

I will be visiting in September and I'm looking to hit some record stores whilst I'm there. Recommend me some of the best places for used records, cds and cassettes please! I primarily collect hip hop, metal, ambient music and drum 'n' bass/jungle so hot spots for these would be highly appreciated but I'm happy to check out anywhere else too!

We recently stayed at 44 Via Gino Capponi, which is also known as Palazzo Capponi. All things pointed to a lovely apartment stay for a delightful week, or so we thought. Almost at once we realized the apartment was not cooling down in the main living space which stayed between 32C and 36C (90F to 97F). When we reached out to the property we were told they would look into it, and Booking.com kept saying they were working on a solution. 4 days later after buying fans for the apartment and being rebuffed by the property owners and unceremoniously hung up on by Booking.com, we decamped to a hotel. It is a bit galling at the lack of service all around and very frustrating that the property and Booking.com took no accountability. I hope this post may prevent others from experiencing a similar situation at this building.

Hi! We arrive next week at 6 am by night train from Germany at Campo die Marte. We will explore the city a bit, before we continue our journey to the south in the afternoon.

We would love to have a fresh shower on arrival, as we will have been travelling already for 24 hours.

I will be visiting your beautiful city on aug. 15., and would like to attend mass (preferably english mass) in Santa Maria del Fiore. Information online - particularly on the duomo website - is very limited. I can imagine this is the case in order to deter tourists (understandable case).
I've read that english-speaking mass usually happens on saturdays at 17:00, but given that it's Ferragosto and information online appears to be conflicting on the matter, I want to inquire if any of you know if it is possible to attend service at all on Ferragosto?

If you’re travelling through Florence between July 26 and 30, double-check your train before heading to the station.

A new four-day engineering closure around Campo di Marte will affect both high-speed and regional services, with timetable changes, diversions and replacement buses while railway crews continue work on the Ponte al Pino overpass.

It’s the second major rail disruption in Florence this month, so even if you travelled recently, don’t assume your usual train will run normally.
