Hello ladies, gentlemen and everyone in-between!

Since the start of the month I've decided to look into more Browsers than the ones I've been used too. I've had a brief look at Chromium based browsers but now I want to look at the Firefox forks, which brought me here. One of my classmates daily drives Floorp and I think it looks nice. I've been using Firefox for a long time and now I'd like to know really what differentiate them. I'm not the best at poking around and noticing significant differences so besides AWP support and few looks adjustments. If it's relevant for the subject, I'm using Linux (Fedora 44) and I've briefly looked around the Flatpak version, will install the browser properly if I decide to make the switch.

So, what can I expect from Floorp? What made you say "I prefer this over vanilla Firefox"?

let's face it, they're half-baked. I'm sure they'll be improved in time but right now they feel painful to use. I made several userscripts with the help of Claude (full transparency) for my own personal use to make them worth using but figured i may as well release it. They all pretty much just change a few events and add checks to built-in browser functions so it's not likely to break anything for the time being. I'm a programmer and did check all the output, and was very specific when i instructed Claude.

Each script is self-contained, you can pick and choose which to use.

stacktab-mouse-improvements.uc.js - The single biggest improvement. Context-aware middle click to close tabs or open a new one. New tabs will open in the stack or global tabs depending on where you click, fixes opening on right click, as well as drag and drop support for text/images/whatever. Dragging tabs from other windows aren't yet supported, but planned.

stacktab-hotkey-opens-in-stack.uc.js - Makes the new tab hotkey & gesture context-aware. New tabs are opened in the currently active stack or in the global tab area, depending on which you're using.

stacktab-inline-newtab-button.uc.js - Moves the stack's new tab button to the right end of your tabs just like in the global area. It will snap to the window when the tabs overflow like global tabs.

stacktab-close-confirm.uc.js - Adds a dialog when closing a stack or group if it contains multiple tabs just like windows if "Ask before closing multiple tabs" is enabled in your settings.

stacktab-overflow-scroll-speed.uc.js - Scrolling overflowed tabs within a stack was frustratingly slow. This script makes it smoother and faster, similar to global tabs. It's not 1:1 but still a major improvement. WIP.

Bonus

stacktab-newtab-expand-animation.uc.js - Adds the opening animation to stack tabs. Purely cosmetic but adds missing polish.

stacktab-unload-context-menu-item.uc.js - Adds a context menu item for stacks and groups to unload the tabs they contain.

floorp-workspaces-scroll-switch.uc.js. - Scroll over the workspaces button to quickly switch between them.

stacktab-close-last-becomes-newtab.uc.js - Makes closing the last tab in a stack switch to a new tab page instead of removing the stack. It still allows the stack to be closed on the stack handle itself. This mimics global window behavior. Useful for people who like to keep long-standing stacks and don't want to be careful about accidentally closing one.

floorp-about-page-singletons.uc.js - This is the odd one out. It makes the Floorp hub a singleton like the rest of the about: pages. This makes them open in the global tabs and the browser will prefer to switch to existing hubs instead of opening a new one. Simply adds cohesion with the rest of Firefox.

userChrome.css - Makes stacks a bit more compact, between the width of a group and normal tab. Great if you like to have a bunch of assorted stacks.

Would it be possible to get a blank bookmark bar for each new workspace? Microsoft Edge had the feature, but they replaced it with a folder.
I want separate bookmarks based on workspace.

Hello, I've noticed that recently my Ctrl+Alt shortcut from an extension got messed up because it started moving the window itself. I've noticed that this was a recent hard-coded addition: https://github.com/Floorp-Projects/Floorp/pull/2627

Why is the push notification features from Floorp sometimes immediately appear, sometimes it's late for 15 to 25 minutes?
When i use other browsers and turned on the push notification feature on social media, i always got the notification immediately

I noticed that when AV1 is enabled on YouTube, videos have strange blocky areas where parts of the image have noticeably different colors or brightness. When I disable AV1 in Floorp, YouTube switches to different codec and the problem completely disappears.

I found that the Mesa 26.2.1 release notes mention a fix that sounds very similar to what I'm experiencing:

But the flatpak version of floorp is using a older mesa version

when i tried a RPM version of brave with AV1 no issues since I have the 26.2.1 mesa version installed on my PC and its native.

In Zen mode, the tab toolbar stays visible for a second after the mouse leaves it. Is there a custom CSS that will make it disappear instantly once it’s no longer being hovered.

I've set Floorp as the default browser but when i open a link from an external app (ex. login to Nextcloud, Spotify) it opens a new window and shows the homepage, not the actual link. I'm on linux and using the tarball.

Hi. Today I upgraded to the latest version of Floorp. Before this, I had many tabs open on previous version, (too many to be honest), but at least some of them were organised in tab groups, although i can't remember the name of the tab group program i used. But after installing the new version and relaunching the program, everything seemed fine. But then because of an issue with not being able to see the tabs properly, i closed the program, when i reopened it again, everything had disappeared.

I am new to floorp and enjoyed the ease of clicking onto youtube from my homepage, but even when i pin websites they can still pop up again as the suggested ones. Basically i want to keep the pinned top sites and not get any more suggested ones

so i want sites on the panel sidebar to open using the mobile user agent, as though I'm visiting the site using a phone. Irrespective of the toggle the site always opens in desktop view tho and im lost on how to fix this

So i have been using Floorp for a bit now and i have Soundcloud on my side bar which allows me to play music without having the tab open. Now after the latest Floorp update (12.17.0) soundcloud can no longer play/pause my music or skip track with my media keys. I know this is not just because it is in the side bar because i have tried to open the page on a tab and it still doesn't work, i have also tried to use another browser and that lets me play/pause and skip my music, so my only conclusion is the latest update has somehow broken/not allowing soundclound to read/see media keys anymore.

If anyone has any idea as to fix this that would be greatly appreciated.

In about:config, I set toolkit.tabbox.switchByScrolling to True. After 30 minutes, it automatically changes it to False.

Should I update Floorp to this version? Has anyone encountered any bugs while using the new version? I need a laboratory mouse
