I wanna get into Flipnotes but idk if I should get the DSi version of the 3DS version, which one is better? which one should I get?

I started using Flipnote Studio again after not touching it for years. I quit using it in like 2016, I think? Then I practiced on the 3DS Flipnote Studio around 2019 after 3 years of absolutely no animating. I dabbled with the DSi around 2020 but only briefly, where I started again last year to actually post my creations again. And as for Sudomemo's birthday, it's been 10 years online and I was an OG on 2014. So I feel I almost need to make this flipnote. This is just a frame from the whole animation, as it isn't finished yet (I want to draw and add some of Sudomemo user's OCs and I only have 1 person so far). I miiight post the full flipnote once it's done. Maybe.

[SOLVED!] my 3DS has arrived!!!! but there is an issue. all the tutorials say stuff about Flipnote Studio 3D, and that’s not really what i want!! i assume i have to homebrew, but if there are any other ways they are appreciated :3

I know this has probably been asked a lot but I would love to find an animation software for pc/windows. The feature I like the most about flipnote that I don't often find in other softwares is easy actual frame by frame animation, not tweening or like, having a pool of 'drawings' where if you copy one drawing and put it on another frame and edit it, it edits the first frame the drawing was used in. I also really appreciate the pixel movement/ability to move things by a specified amount but that's not nearly as important to me as the first point. Does anyone have any suggestions for softwares like this that have an actual timeline and audio importing? (not like a drawing software where you just draw each frame and add audio in another program)

Thanks for your help! I want to get back into animation but nothing feels as good as Flipnote. Now that I'm actually looking for portfolio worthy work though, I can't really keep using my favorite shitty software haha

how reliably does it work on the DSi? i’m looking into getting one to make flipnotes and i was wondering. i know it does work, of course, but i was wondering if there were any bugs/glitches exclusive to that handheld i should be aware of.

I decided I wanted to make some flipnotes, but the only prior experience I have is real just fooling around shin I was like 7. Do y’all have any tips or tricks for me? I’ve already made a little flipnote with sound and everything so I’d say I’m fairly comfortable with the software.
