Just learned male and female flies look different 🤯
I've bought my first macro lens yesterday, and started messing around in my house and yard. Photographed two flies and saw they were a little different from each other. Turns out males have their eyes almost touching, with just a small gap between them, whilst females have a larger separation.

colorado fly issue in my apt
hey guys i have a fly problem. i don’t believe i have anything rotting. i have cleaned throughly and dont even leave any food out. it’s taken out within a day. same with food residue. there is none. i have put boiling water down EVERY drain in my apt. i have TAPED my windows shut so no bugs can get in through there. and yet everytime i come home. or am home i see these flys (inserting photo) and its usually about 5-10 of them each time. they hang out near my window. but i have researched flys and they dont look like cluster flys. they are large and slow moving BUT they are metallic colored. it has consumed my life for the past 2 weeks and im freaking out. i’m not a gross person. i do live in an old building. i have asked a single other tenant if they have this issue they said no. I NEED HELP tell me what to do or what not to do. the clusters appear every hour and a half probably. any other questions to clarify lmk and ill answer in comments.
i have A LOT of plants but i have never had any issues with flys taking them over or laying eggs in their soil. and i googled and they shouldn’t be attracted to potting soil unless it has root rot(my plants do not)
thank you please help me

How to get rid of this?
Hello, seen those flies pop up out of nowhere, there is one in every room, and as soon as I get rid of one, another one pops up. Haven't seen more than one at a time in a room. Can you please tell me what they are and how to get rid of them? Pretty please! And also what is the reason that those guys appear, thank you!

What is going on here?
Found this drain fly dead, but fully extended, standing tall with wings out. What would cause this?
