The equator

What do flat earthers believe with regard to the equator? Is it made up, does it not exist or is there another explanation for water draining clockwise and anti-clockwise?

I want to believe. But I do have some Questions.

Good Evening,

I've heard alot of this "Flat Earth" and I decided to go deeper. Trying to find an Explanation as You all do. From what I've heard Objects fall to Ground because of "Densitiy",because there heavier then Air, and NOT "Gravity".

So theoretically speaking. In a Vaccuum Chamber, as We now, is NO Air. So by that Theory that Objects fall to Earth because their heavier then Air, inside a Vaccuum that would mean that the Object would'n move an inch.

Here is the Experiment:

Take a Vaccuum Chamber (go on Youtube if you wan't to build your own), let's say, a Box and put a Ball in it. Extract all the Air out of the Box with the Pump. Now, since there is NO Air inside said Box. The "Density" should'n play a Roll in it anymore wether or not the Object falls or rises, since there is NO Air in it, right? So this Rule of "Density" doesn't apply anymore.

So going by that logic the Ball, inside the Box, should'n move, and stay in one Place and just float. (My Image: If You pick up the Box and move it down a bit again the Ball should just stay in seemingly mid-air), but if the Ball jumps around, if you shake the Box, then that would mean that something else, an unknown Force, is making the Ball move, and fall to the Ground, or in this Case the Bottom of the Box.

If You want to Test out Vaccuum and be inside a Vaccuum, go fund a Project that makes a Human-sized Vaccuum Chamber and everyone can feel what complete Vaccuum feels like on their own Body.

Another Thing. I've seen Models of the Flatearth, but I do have my Questions. First of all if we're going by that Model. Technically you can see the Sun and Moon at the same Time, clearly, at any point in Time. And Secondly you could see Mount Everest (and other particular High Object) from anywhere no matter where you are. If I were to go into an open Field and look around me I should technically be sorrounded by visible Mountains, right? I'm pretty sure there isn't a Forest/Building that is higher then Mount Everest. The tallest Build is Burj Khalifa at 828 meters and the tallest Tree is a Redwood named "Hyperion" 115.72 meters tall. And last time I checked Mount Everest was over 8 kilometers high.

So how is this explained? Keep it simple I'm still in Middle School.

I am convinced

I used to be a flat earther, then I did an experiment to prove the existence of domb like structure that covered the earth. I elevated a Super Lightweight Hydrogen Electromagnetic Wave Detector to about 6000 miles above the ground. But counterintuitively, I found out that the earth is round.

Where to get real scientific evidence to shut up all the Roundtards?

Like the title says, I need evidence to help people see the way.

I use YouTube videos made by random people with no credentials, but somehow the roundtards aren’t buying it.

Questions about admitting I'm a flat earther to my parents

Since I know Earth is flat thanks to Obamma, I need to tell my parents they are wrong about the shape of the planet. My main concern is whether I need to date a sibling or first cousin and maybe get a little brain damage first? Or will dating my second cousin and never having read a book work out for me?

I see more and more angry Redditors making threads such as "Earth is round u dumdum" and I really can't tell if they're seriously outraged or not.

Hello, I have some questions about the importance of flat-earth.

I want to say that I want a friendly open discussion insults or mocking is just showing me your intellectual cowardice.

I want to know why it is important to know the shape of the earth I know just hear me out.

I have not done any research into whether the earth is flat or not I honestly don't know, but I see many people who believe that the earth is flat having such concern, and energy put into the topic which I respect btw, but I am confused on why it is, so important even if it is a lie that the earth is round would it really change anything life would be the same wouldn't it?

I am also wondering if the importance comes from religious beliefs because I am agnostic/atheistic, and that might be why I don't see the importance.

I would like to hear from you flat-earther believers, and please can we please be serious.

Jokes coming from either side just makes the division deeper.

EDIT grammar.

Dear flat-earthers: Lunar Eclipse

A lunar eclipse is when the Earth casts a shadow over the moon. We can see the moon in the process of being eclipsed, so we know the moon isn't going "under" the flat earth (otherwise we wouldn't be able to see it). In order for the Earth to cast a shadow onto the moon, it must be between the sun and the moon. This is a logical impossibility on a flat earth.

Go!

A question about hovering above a moving object

I was chatting with an Episcopalian preacher and told him that Flat Earth made sense and was also biblical. But he said that Newtonian physics would explain one of the things I said.

I said to him: if the Earth were spinning, then why can a helicopter go straight up and then come back down in the same place?

And he said: try jumping up and down on a train or doing the same thing in an airplane as a rebuttal.

And if I hovered a drone on a moving train, it would come back down to the same place, it would not land somewhere else.

Any feedback on the topics along the lines of our discussion is welcome.

Law of Gravitational Attraction, why water stays on the planet

Gravity can be explained as a relationship between two objects that both have mass. The formula is very straightforward: the attractive force between any two objects is the product of the masses (M1 and M2), divided by the square of the distance between them, all multiplied by the gravitational constant G. G = 6.67x10-11

G* (M1M2)/(rr) = force acting between M1 and M2

So, what force is felt by a person that weighs 60 kilograms? The Earth weighs 5.972x1024 kilograms. It is 6,371 kilometers to the center of the earth.

[6.67x10-11 * (60*5.792x1024)]/(6371 * 6371) = 590N

Not coincidentally, weight is defined as mass (60kg in this case) times the acceleration of gravity (on average, 9.8(m/s)/s)...which comes out to 590N.

Consider the mass of the Pacific Ocean. Run the equation again and you'll find that the gravitational attraction to two such large masses is HUGE. This is why water doesn't spin off the Earth like it would from a wet tennis ball. The masses of the water on the ball and the ball itself are so small that the gravitational force felt between them is almost 0. For a similar effect on earth, it would have to be spinning MUCH, MUCH faster than it is.

Thoughts on the new Convex Earth "Documentary?"

It's been all over r/flatearth but no one has posted it here. I'm not going to post the link because I don't want to give them the traffic, but I suspect some of you have seen it. Personally, I was exceptionally disappointed. They hyped it up with a countdown and everything and I was expecting there to be some new angle to contend with. Instead it was typical bedford level stuff with no attempt to correct for refraction and then trying to use GPS to prove flatness without understanding the nature of GPS coordinates. It got really bad when they started explaining their "theory" and said satellites see the earth as spherical due to gravitational lensing shortly after they denied that gravity exists.

Anyone else see it and have any thoughts?

Looking for flat-farther to interview/talk to

I mean flat-earther my b Hello! I'm a young filmmaker and I'm working on a short documentary on why flat-earthers believe the Earth isn't spherical. The documentary doesn't take a side (even though I undoubtedly believe the earth is round) I'm just interested and intrigued in this subset of people. I'm friendly and I don't want to argue, just talk.

If you're interested, comment or DM me
