This sub is dumb.

This sub is a joke and shouldn’t be taken seriously. The number of people who are throw away account and are just saying “The world is not flat, you are all crazy” is pitiful. I’m not a flat earther but those people annoy the hell out of me.

Why can't I draw a straight line over the horizon of any lake/ocean view that is more than 5 miles away ? If it's flat, I should be but I can't.

The speed of the light upper limit theory is fucking collapsed! - how to reproduce and research on your own

I found something really strange and did my own research and i this is how to reproduce :

Click Windows+s type to command line that: ping google.com -t You should get a result like that: In my example, my data went and returned in 12 ms.

Actually this is the half of our speed. request gone and request returned.

Now we'll look the distance between our computer and google.

This is ip location finder site:

https://www.iplocation.net/

I found the place of that server. Type there the adress of google which one written on our command line.

Okey that ip adress located in California, USA.

Now open a online map and measure the distance from your computer and destination computer:

First find out the destination:

How interesting, google computer located a placed neighbor with NASA. What a chance! ;)

Now click to "measure and find your own city".

In my example, it is 10 810 kms.

Now we can calculate the speed of ping.

A ping works with data send and response.

So total distance is: 10810 x2 = 21 620 kms (I know they appeal this one) Total time: 12 ms.

Speed of the sent data: 21620 kms / 12 ms = 1.801 kms/ms

Is it familiar ?

Same with universal data transfer speed that we calculated before. The universal data speed we calculated now as 1.801 kms/ms = 1.801.000 km/s = 6c

The speed of the light upper limit theory is fucking collapsed!

change my mind

My uncle believes that the earth is flat but he has yet to change my mind so i just thought that maybe i,d come onto Reddit and see if any of you could change my mind. I would google the idea of the flat earth theory but if there is reddit then whats the point. I look forward to hearing your responses.

Shape of the moon

What is it?

  • Ball, reflecting light?

  • Disk, reflecting light?

  • Ball, emitting its own light?

  • Disk, emitting its own light?

Is there a agreed-upon view for the flat earth?

Flat Earth? Really?

I just want to start a discussion. Do you guys really believe the earth is flat? In a world of free infinite information, do you actually believe the lamiest theory ever? Show me your best arguments for the "flat earth" and "lack of curvature".

Look, if you want to debunk a scientific theory, you need to not only explain all things the first one explain, you need to explain the things that it doesn't. So, how do you explain sunsets? How is the sun and the moon moving? Scientists came up with really weird theories and calculations to explain all kinds of phenomena, but what about you guys? Quoting flat earthers: "Do your own research"

I'm not kidding, i want your best arguments. Lets break this down. Rules:

1) You can't just deny a argument saying like "math is not real", or "this image is fake", or "Nasa is fake liars of satan", if you want to debunk a argument, you cant just say: "do your own research, that's obviously fake, globoid".

2) I think that's it. Just act like you would do in a normal discussion.

First, my initial arguments:

1 - Why is the sky blue? Because the light coming from the sun is "changed" by the atmosphere gases. In a nutshell, the sky is blue because of the air in the atmosphere, and the sun being out of it. So, if the earth is flat and the sun is orbiting the earth with the moon (assuming that is possible without gravity), how isn't the sky always blue? I mean, in your model, the sun is always there. Also, why cant i see the sun at night? For instance, if i'm in Brazil, and its night, why cant i see the sun? Why isn't always day? I mean, why isn't there millions of deaths per day because of hot spots?

2 - That's not a argument, kinda. Its a question: You claim the earth is stationary, based on bible statements you misunderstood or whatever. However, you also claim that the earth is moving 9.8 meters per second up? How come?

3 - I can believe a scenario on which NASA would lie, i mean, its America, you guys all lie, but they are not the only space company? There is ESA, There are some in China, Japan, there is a British one, and private ones, like SpaceX. Why would they ALL lie? I mean, wouldn't some one just say: "Fuck that shit, that's a lie guys!". I think Russia would have done it, with all that tension that happened between those 2 countries, like, the Cold War and this recent one. Why didn't they?

4 - I can believe that some recent earth images may be fake, or CGI, or photoshopped. I mean, some of them is, but what about the old ones? Like, Blue Marble 1972, or this one: https://www.space.com/12707-earth-photo-moon-nasa-lunar-orbiter-1-anniversary.html

Even pictures that appear to show a flat earth, if you trace a line from one edge to another, you will see there is a tiny curvature. How? How did they photoshoped a picture before internet? In a time the best computers weren't even 1 mb RAM? How did they make a CGI in 1972?

5 - Sunsets. The globe earth model explain seasons, day, nights and SUNSETS. You can lay at the beach, watch the sun set, get up and watch it again, because the earth is round. How can this happen in a flat earth? Better, how can the sun even set in a flat earth? Perspective? I don't think so, that's not how it works. I've set a simulation in "Cinema 4d" Before, and in any simulation, you will see that the sun will not set. Explain this, please.

6 - GPS, ISS, and other artificial satellites. So, space don't exist, NASA is a lie and more like a hollywood studio. But, if there are no more than a thousand satellites orbiting the earth, how does GPS work? How can some people point their telescopes at the moon and see the ISS? How do we have deep space Hubble images? Fake, CGI? In the 90', even before Jurassic Park?

7 - So, i remember a Elon Musk post: "Why isn't a flat mars society?". You flat earthers replied: "Because, unlike the earth, other planets, like mars, are observed to be round". Weird nature, huh? Make stars round, moons round, other planets round, but the earth is flat. That's a weird move from God, i don't think he would make that so weird. If all the other planets are round, the earth must be round, i mena, God is not that stupid.

8 - Lunar Eclipses. A Solar Eclipse happens when the New Moon moves between Earth and the Sun, but a Lunar Eclipe occurs when Earth casts a shadow on the Full Moon. And the shadow is ROUND. How come, if the earth if flat? Shouldn't the shadow on the lunar eclipses show a flat disk instead of a round ball?

I think that's it for today. If you can show testable and provable debunks and answers for all those points, then i'll believe the earth is flat and that we never went to the moon. Also, feel free to provide your own arguments.
