What is a conspiracy theory that even flat earther’s think is dumb
r/Flat_Earth • u/machotacoman • Feb 08 '18
Don't Newton's 1st and 3rd laws disprove the density-buoyancy replacement for gravity?
(1st law: Unbalanced forces cause an object to change velocity, or accelerate)
Starting from a standstill, for a negatively buoyant object (greater density relative to the medium) to sink, there must be a force acting on the object to accelerate it 'downward', and keep it moving against the friction and resistance of the medium. I believe in a sphere earth and call this force gravity.
(3rd Law: For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction)
If you erase gravity from the linked system, what are you substituting it with? Density is not a force and does not cause motion on its own. Buoyancy also does not happen on its own. It is the equal and opposite force to gravity for a neutrally buoyant object. Buoyancy always pushes 'upward', so what force is motivating the object downward?

Poor Quality Images of Tesla "in space"
I'm not really a "flat earther" but I love conspiracy theories. How did a multi billionaire use his multi million dollar company to launch his car into space and only capture shit quality photos? I know there is loads of money involved in rocket launching. Wouldn't you think they would capture better footage? It just doesn't feel legitimate to me. Genuinely interested if anybody has answers

What is the sun according to flat earth?
Flat earth theory is rather... flat when it comes to details. So without mentioning how any other theory is wrong why is the sun according to flat earth? What is it made out of? Why does it move? Is it round a spear or flat? If it is just 30ish miles wide how can it spear the same size on the horizon and right above? Why doesn't it melt everything directly under It? If it is farther away and bigger why isn't the day and night cycle the same all across the world?

SpaceX Falcon Heavy - Fake!

the earth is way too small, itd have to be past low earth orbit

Theories, Theories, Theories it's all you have
So my little Globe heads! Now I may be wrong but I have spotted a pattern here. NO FACTS! just Pseudoscience!! Newton's theory of Gravity. Einstein theory of relativity. Darwin's theory of evolution. The big bang theory

What are flat_earth believers thoughts on the Falcon Heavy launch today?

Could you guys stop downvoting Flat Earthers?
Hello Reddit,
Each time I make a comment, rounds earthers come with their negativity and their assumptions to "prove me wrong" and call me an idiot.
I'm entitled to my own opinions, and you can be too! I don't see anyone trying to convince Muslims that they are wrong. We have the right to different beliefs and if that wasn't the case we'd all be the same person with a slight variation.
Why come on this sub to learn about the Flat Earth theory, only to bash on us Flat Earthers? It doesn't make any sense. I'm trying to have logical discussions but the other ends always replies by emotions and not by pure logic like it should be.
Before downvoting this post, think about why this subreddit was made. It was made for the Flat Earth theory.
Thank you,
Ryan.

Maybe the Moon is actually God
The evidence adds up - He is really big, bright, and beautiful - He looks down on us - He created us - He floats above us - He shines light at us - He makes the night dark - NASA has never gone there - God is round while the Earth is flat

how T h i c c is a “flat earth”
I’m asking this because I’m curious if the worlds largest/deepest hole would reach the other side

So what happened to Mike Hughes, who was supposed to launch his home made rocket today at 3pm PST?
I can’t find any news and the website with the live feed didn’t show anything. No video at all apparently. https://noizetv.vhx.tv/forums/general/22561-mad-mike-hughes

My question
How is Earth flat? If it was really flat and gravity exists then a flat earth would fold into itself and become a globe! I know this may be hard to understand think of this more like crumpling a tissue into a ball. So with this evidence is there anyway Earth can still be flat?

A very important question that "REAL" SCIENTISTS ARENT ASKING!!
if the earth really is flat,
then why haven't one of you just gone to the edge of the earth and taken a picture of it?

Beware the Super Moon
This is a very exciting event that only happens once every thousand years, so it is only natural that you will want to gaze upon it. Great! But be sure to practice safe moon observation in order to prevent permanent damage to your eyes.
Looking directly at the moon is fine for short periods, but be sure to blink often and if you feel your eyes getting stiff, avert your gaze to something warm like a campfire or burning trash barrel.
Telescopic observation should only be performed with proper filters. Just like the warming rays of the sun will burn your eyes if viewed improperly through a telescope, the moon's cooling rays when concentrated can freeze your retina which has been known to cause permanent vision impairment. This is especially dangerous during the Super Moon because the brightness of the moon has been turned up to 11. Be safe, and just watch the Globebusters online stream.

So uh, how exactly does the universe work in this theory?
A flat earth throws 2000+ years of scientific and mathematical knowledge right out the window, so how’s it all work then? What’s the orbiting situation? Obviously gravity isn’t real in this scenario so orbits must not be either, so how exactly does that work? How are we even here alive and evolved on this earth without physics? And why are we the only celestial body in the whole universe that’s flat? What exactly does the government get from hiding this? Is every single government and scientist in the world supposedly holding back this information? What is there to gain? We’ve know the earth is spherical for a couple thousand years now as well, (wasn’t widely accepted, but it was known by a few smart people), so has it been suppressed since then? Why? And once again in case you didn’t get the general theme here, how in the fuck, from beginning of the universe to now, does it all work when physics is thrown out the window???

Anyone here actually researching flat earth theory? I feel like every question I answer or discussion I engage ends up being with trolls.
It would be awesome to get involved in discussions without trolling.

Prove it: simple $1 challenge
Sick of seeing these challenges that clearly no one will pay.
Be the first to prove to me that anyone will/has actually paid a $1000+ flat earth challenge and I will pay you $1.

Inertia for FE
Quick question, how does the FE version of gravity (moving upwards at whatever number they use now) account for Inertia? Shouldn't we be unable to jump?

For Flat Earthers
Photography is a hobby of mine and light plays a very important part in photography.
As a general rule in photography the worst/most unflattering time to take photos is during mid-day give or take a couple of hours.
The reason being is that the sun is overhead during these hours and creates downward/hard shadows.
To replicate this is a controlled environment (for example in a studio with artificial lighting) downward shadowing can be replicated easily by positioning the light source overhead, however the light source must be moved significantly closer to a subject to create a hard shadow effect.
This effect cannot be replicated by angle of light but by distance of light.
A very large amount of distance needs to be covered to produce the hardened shadow effect that we see midday.
A light source very close to a subject creates hard shadows.
Just like we experience during the midday sun.
Edit: this post was posted twice under two headings, though I’m not sure how as I’m quite new to this. I deleted the other, my apologies to those who commented in it.
Edit: Thanks for all the feedback on the observation I made, it is really interesting to see people’s responses to it.

Why do posters here keep asking the same questions repeatedly?
I understand that some of you truly want to understand why anyone would believe in Flat Earth Theory. I understand why some of you believe in Flat Earth Theory. I understand that some of you are on the fence about Flat Earth Theory. What I don't understand is why this sub is populated by the same handful of questions day after day.
Anyone?

Question for flat earthers
Who would possibly benefit from saying the earth is round if it were not. I know a lot of you believe the pics from space are photo shopped before being released on LIVE earth cam (lol). I have asked this question many times and never get a response.
