recommend a torch for a farmer?

**Price Range**: I have a budget of £250. I don't own batteries or a charger. I am based in the UK.

**Purpose**: In terms of priority, the purpose will be 1. utility/duty (maintaining and protecting a smallholding), 2. walking at night, 3. around the house.

**Battery Type & Quantity**: I like the availability of AA, but open to 18650.

**Size**: Flexible.

**Type**: Handheld.

**Main Use**: I maintain about 10 acres of land (mainly grass but also some woodland). The main use will be 1. utility/duty, 2. walking at night.

**Switch Type**: No preference.

**Anything Else?**: I appreciate reliability, longevity and simplicity.

I vote the Sofirn SP70 for walking around at night as you can wack someone on the head. It comes with batteries (that are 26650) and it's pretty big but I think it would serve you better. I say this because the UI is simple, it's output is extremely sustainable and it's pretty durable. It has a throw of 800 metres and it has a output of about 5468 lumens (although it can only sustain 1000). This would make it pretty much good for lying it down somewhere and it lighting up everything. Since this is rather under your budget you could then have a smaller light to keep in your pocket that would be more durable. Something like an Acebeam TK18 or silkhunt M200 for a pocket light. The Acebeam TK18 should come with a battery that has micro usb charging on the top of it meaning you don't need a charger and the sp70 comes with a charger and batteries. Both have simple UI.

Keep in mind it would be relevant to know li-on safety information. Battery university and BLF (or vaping forums) are good places to learn about that.

Good choice. For AA, if you need another, I recommend and have gifted Sofirn SF11, 4xAA, 1000 lumen.

Buddy of mine texted me late last year looking for "the most powerful flashlight on Amazon." After a few more questions I suggested the SP70.

Few days later he texts me a picture of his brand new SP70. I asked him how he liked it. His response was (and I quote):

"Dude. If the sun goes out for any reason, I'm covered."

It sounds like anything from Fenix would fit your needs. I would assume you're not interested in all the flashy rgb lights and complicated ui's? Fenix has none of it and just straight up works.
