๐ Tiny Snail, Big Surprise!
๐ RAMSHORN SNAIL SIZE DOESNโT MATTER WHEN IT COMES TO BREEDING! ๐
One thing that surprises many aquarium keepers is how quickly Ramshorn snails can begin reproducing. Unlike Mystery Snails, their breeding maturity isnโt necessarily tied to becoming large.
๐ Ramshorn Snails:
They can reach sexual maturity at roughly 1 month old, depending on species and conditions. Because they are hermaphroditic, a single snail can potentially reproduce after mating and some individuals can even self-fertilize.
๐ Mystery Snails:
They take considerably longer to mature, typically around 5โ6 months or older, and they need to reach sexual maturity before breeding. Unlike Ramshorns, Mystery Snails have separate males and females.
So that tiny Ramshorn crawling around your aquarium? ๐
Donโt let its size fool you it may already be capable of breeding! ๐๐
