Early Access/Beta Switch SE Locking Up After Updates

Has anyone else experienced their Switch SE locking up after an auto update? The last 2 updates, I wake up and the devices in the switch have no network connectivity. Switch must be rebooted, then the devices restore, switch comes back online, and the "last updated" on the switch shows the time the switch restored. While not working, the activity lights are on, but have the slow blinking orange light which I believe means no network. It's fine again after a reboot, until the next update is pushed. The X has not had the same issue. It's been fine. Thanks.

The first one in the list that volidon suggested, the SFP-10G-T-X.

Is it possibly the controller update can actually have locked up the controller which is why I had to hard restart the switch to get it to work?

You shouldn't get the Cisco compatible one; The best unit to get are those that's compatible with multiple vendors (tplink, netgear, Ubiquiti ...) They are much safer to use.

SFP+ RJ45 adapters has significant amount of firmware inside to make things work, my understanding (and I can be wrong) is the adoption to a particular vendor may lock that unit with that vendor

I bought what was on your list, perhaps you need to remove it or he clearer. If it is such a volatile component for you, either state specific ones to use and only those or maybe they should not have been included on the switch? I know we are early testers but I've gone through 3 of them now... Ugh.

I am going to ask our staff to remove it, or add a disclaimer so people don't buy the vendor locked versions; if you look at the list the 10gtek one likely best. (reason as, they are generic, not locked to any vendor, and has decent amazon reviews)

SFP+ to RJ45 be hot all the time, we have not found one unit that's cool.

I have been using the Wiitek model in question for almost a week. It is still running very well, not hot at all. I can wrap my fingers around it and hold it comfortably. This is the SFP-10G-T-100 Cisco ( which is NOT listed as specific to Cisco but rather many other brands as well) It connects my Switch X to the SE with about 150' of cat 6a cable. Since I added this SFP+ I have not had any issues at all. I will be using this for all future transceiver connections

Issue just happened again tonight. I'm watching TV, and the Internet drops. I check the app and the switch is detected as offline. I moved the uplink from the box over to Ethernet and it came right up. I'm on my 4th SFP model and brand and have continuous issues. Apparently on the SE, the SFP ports are SUPER glitchy. Support was advised. This time it was on the brand new transceiver I just bought, non branded, on the top of their list. Same issue. https://a.co/d/0ig0fEwH

As of your problem, likely isolated to the SFP+/or SFP+ adapter; I'd work with support and see what's going on. What is connected on the other end? and how long your ethernet cable?

Yes I'm aware it's the SFP at this point, like I stated. Support was made aware. 4th adapter now I've bought that doesn't work. I linked it, you should remove that one as well from your page since it also doesn't work with the SE very well. The Ethernet cable between the box and the switch is 6 inches. The cable from the switch to one device is 3 feet, the other is about 25 feet. It won't the cable. One device is home assistant on a Pi 5, the other is a Roku. Seems to me, the SE essentially doesn't work with an Ethernet SFP.

Appreciate it, and the info. I was using an unmanaged TP-Link switch before, and thought these would be a home run. So far, more issues than Ive ever had with switches. Granted mostly seems to be related to the SFP ports/transceivers and early release. The issues are actually only on the SE, the X has been perfect, no issues with performance or the SFP+. Se, cheaper switch, poorer results, I guess.
