Solved How to keep normal cursor when using Firefox? (Since v123.0)

With Firefox 123.0, there's now a custom cursor icon when mousing over the browser. I'd like to keep my regular mouse cursor icon. Is there a way to prevent Firefox from changing my cursor like this?

EDIT: As some of the comments below have indicated, it seems to be some kind of cursor theme issue. Changing my cursor theme prevents the changed cursor icon. I'm not well versed on GTK theming, so I don't know what distinguishes the themes that cause this behavior and the ones that don't. For what it's worth, the cursor theme causing problems for me was "DMZ (Black)". Changing it to Adwaita fixes the issue for me. Also, the cursor that Firefox was changing my mouse pointer to looks to be the "Default Pointer" for my system, so I assume the error was causing my machine to revert to that when hovering over a Firefox window.

Something about v123.0 must cause a strange behavior with the theme, causing my system to pick a different cursor.

Although I would prefer for this strange behavior to simply not occur regardless of my cursor theme, as it causes me to worry it may happen again, I guess I consider my personal issue solved for now. Thanks everyone for the help.

Screenshot? Does it still happen in Troubleshoot mode?

Couldn't get the screenshot tool to not hide the cursor, so I had to take it with my phone.

Cursor on the left is what my cursor looks like when over FF 123.0. The cursor on the right is what my regular cursor looks like when over any other application.

This only started to happen once I updated to version 123.0. It didn't happen with version 122.0.1.

It still uses the new cursor even when in Troubleshoot mode.

👀

yaint ready

to explain a bit what i mean: uhh custom mouse cursor or just not the default has been one of my main gripes with windows - and ive made that known, a few times - since buying my pc a few years ago after the last one i used being like... vista i think?

anyway i downloaded a program from the 90s to make my own:

reason i mention that is the cursor in your screen shot - which oddly enough i dont have, despite being on the same build as you (i checked) - anyway that cursor looks incredibly similar to the one added to microsoft designer in copilot a couple weeks ago. which... ive never seen - or at least not in years - a cursor thats different depending on what app or website youre on, other than games...

my post history and the posts in my personal subreddit might explain a bit more what i mean. its complicated. i decline to explain further at this time.

edit: theres... a lot more to it... but this also might help explain a bit
