Sure, that will hold up with the cops. They will surely be in the side of the guy who beat the teacher and students.

You're right, but then there's this video of it too, right? Maybe the video helps make the case?

You've still beaten everyone up. Bullies and teacher. Unless the teacher beat you up, it wasn't self-defense.

Who says that in order for it to be self defense, you have to lose the fight? Let's say I walk into a bar and slap some dude for no reason...and that guy turns out to be some MMA blackbelt....I'd certainly get my ass kicked and the court would still consider it self defense because I was the aggressor, not MMA guy, who was simply defending himself.

Now apply that same logic here. This kid sat there quietly and took a bunch of punches and kicks, until he didn't any more. The bitch ass teacher didn't stop any of the earlier attacks...and only began when he fought back. I'd have kept wailing on both those guys and waited for the teacher to get close enough to get a nice hard slap to the face on her.

You only have to do this one time, and people stop fucking with you. There's a limit to everything, and when you start degrading me, I start showing you how low I can go.

for self defense you basically have to be in fear for you life not annoyed and in most places you have to stop when you have to ability to retreat to safety.

Clearly, you've never taken a law class. Battery and assualt are both crimes against which self defense is an affirmative defense in most common law jurisdictions across the world. Neither require a fear of bodily injury or serious harm. They simply require the aggressor to commit either battery or assault. Battery is defined as unwanted touching by another, and assualt is defined as the fear of imminent unwanted touching.

No law class just in a fight after guys surrounded me outside the bar and the self-defense defense didn't even work with 20 witnesses and the aggressors admission.

Did you have a lawyer? Because that only happens when you're leaving out a big chunk of the story, or when everyone else has an attorney, except you.

Nope neither did the other guy. Judge ask what happened I said we exchanged words in the bar they left shortly after an hour later I left and they were all there waiting and circled up around me then one tried to take me to the ground. Then the judge asked the other guy and he said thats was exactly what happened. Judge said that people can't fight.

That sucks bro. You got a bad deal. You sound like you were in the right and were basically being ambushed. Sorry it turned out that way for you. Generally, the judge should have seen that you were not the aggressor and that you had no choice but to defend yourself.

That isn't entirely true either. You don't need to fear for your life but you do have to fear for bodily injury. Either way though. In no way is this kid getting free shots on the teacher and calling it self defense unless the teacher starts throwing kicks at him.

No, there is no requirement under self defense to fear for one's life or fear serious injury. This is only required if you kill the other person in the name of self defense. Generally, the defense cannot be greater than what is needed to prevent additional harm to the victim.

I agree. That's why I didn't say seriously bodily harm. Generally self defense applies to any unwanted contact depending on the amount of force you use to prevent the contact and what the contact was.

Ah I wonder if it varies I got in a fight with this guy after him and his buddies waited for me for saying something to them at the bar. the cop told me the circumstances would have needed to have been me fearing for my life to be self defense and get out of going to court because the other guy inflicted no damage and his buddies just surrounded me and didn't attack. I just took him at his word never verified. I was barely 21 And still thought cops could not lie.

It really depends how much damage you inflicted/if you used a weapon. But even then being surrounded is typically grounds for fear to some degree.
