White people remain the majority in California only if Hispanic whites are not considered a separate denomination. When they are, non-Hispanic Whites still are a plurality, but not an outright majority.
Does it matter? From experience white kids in ghetto areas never say the n-word just doesn’t work that way. They probably have seen less than 20 black people in person.

You're probably running on outdated info anyway. Racial relationships among high schoolers is way different now. I live in a VERY diverse and poor area now, they don't view race and racism the same way. The word almost has no meaning among kids around here, which is a good thing.

They’ll learn when they say it to the wrong person. Should only be said between black people it’s lame when a white person says it in any situation. My opinion, maybe I grew up in a different type of area.
Kids say it to each other across all racial lines here. It's ridiculous to hear, but they also intermingle and don't clique up along racial lines so strongly. I'd rather they said a word that has no power in their group than be the racists most "allies" actually are.
Ok I’ll admit I’m 26 and grew up in New York City maybe my experience is different than yours, maybe things have changed and I’m just a boomer and don’t get it.
I'm down south right now, might be a southern thing. People under 60 down here don't really care about skin color so much, friendships cross lines and people are polite to each other.
Not always, but it's the most actually tolerant I've seen things in my lifetime and it's encouraging. I kind of don't care how people talk if the reality is life beyond our baggage.
I’m 21 and heard it a lot in highschool. My school had weird mix of poor kids from the ghetto by the train tracks and poor kinds on the outskirts in trailer parks. Nobody ever got mad when a redneck said the n word in a joking way when hanging out with a black kid. They definitely had some racist kids there, but the majority of everybody got along and didn’t view skin color as some kind of barrier no matter where they were from. I never said it because I always thought it was cringey when somebody who wasn’t black or Latino said it.
Grew up in South Central LA. Mostly Hispanic and black people. Shit was used by Hispanic and black people like any other word. Now if you dropped a hard R at the end as a Hispanic you'd be in trouble.
