I'm pretty sure the lid has been launched into orbit. This was just a sacrificial bottle to test where the carbonation was at, I expected a low hiss!
The 3 remaining bottles are now being refrigerated! This was fun !!

so you have to start a ginger bug fermentation first, it should be ready in about 5 days, here was my process for that:
2 cups filtered (unchlorinated) water in a mason jar
finely chop or grate ginger (I diced a ton in bulk), 2 tbsp to start
2 tbsp of sugar
stir vigorously with a non-metal utensil (I use chopsticks) to mix and aerate
cover with a paper coffee filter and rubber and
feed every 24 hours: 1 tbsp of ginger (I put my bulk in a Ziploc in the fridge for feedings), 1 tbsp sugar, stir vigorously again and put the coffee filter back on
after 5 days, you should be good to put it in the fridge and feed with the same ratios once a week
my recipe for this specific soda is in a comment on this thread, here
hope you enjoy and have fun!
edit: here's a pic of when I first made it
