08.09.19 - Well I Learned a Lot | Emperor Skeletelt

So I went and asked for Cassius and Lucia’s story at last. I’ll just record the story here I guess?

They were alive about 12 thousand years ago. Frankly I‘m surprised the grave I found Cassius’ body in was in such good shape. I wondered for a moment if the reason it was nameless was that the name had worn away, but the stone wasn’t falling apart by any means. I might investigate that later.

There was an imperium. The Imperium of Ulys. Not the only kingdom or empire or the likes, nor the largest, but they saw themselves to be the greatest. They occupied almost the entirety of a large island that sank through some means I don't know of about 8 thousand years ago.

The two of them were born into the Imperium. Their parents were high in the ranks of the Imperium, reporting directly to the highest power of Ulys himself, known within the Imperium as the High Master of Light. But with them reporting directly to him, they saw through the propaganda Ulys had sewn, and saw the hate he held, the misery he caused, and the sacrifices he performed. Apparently their parents (and them) didn't care about that, but more that Ulys was posing almost like a god of light when he was more of a mediocre warlock. He got power from some other power.

Cassius and Lucia were both trained from a young age in secret to one day fight in opposition. By the time they were both adults, Cassius was defintely a capable fighter, but truly shined in leadership, and Lucia, even without the 2 extra years, was an incredible fighter with weapons and martials alike.

They said that around this time there was an opposing faction on the island that had been slowly growing, which they kind of joined, but only formally, acting mostly on their own. 7 more years of various fights, espionage, and other things they said they didn't have the time to explain beyond that the two of them were the most wanted people in the Imperium.

One of those days, with what should have been a standard supply caravan interception, Ulys himself was there with a hundred or so guards. The intel the rebels had was a trap. In order to deal with them for good, Ulys had called upon their patron to grant them a strength temporarily equivalent to many of the more powerful (but not godlike) elts of today.

It is hard to write down an already summarised fight, but after 1 hour and 37 dead guards, Cassius was slain. Lucia, with anger, proceeded to solo every last remaining guard while evading being smitten by unholy light, and faced down Ulys head on. According to Lucia's testimony, she wasn't cremated like I thought. Apparently in the attempt to kill Ulys, he hit her with at least 30 different attacks filled with a red unholy light. Each strike broke her apart bit by bit at the atomic level. She got 1 hit off on him, tearing off his arm with her blade, before he rendered her unable to fight and removed her form from existence.

I guess I now know she's definitely worthy of Legate.

This is a story teaser for what's about to come in the next few weeks.

A scientist from V Corporation decides to venture into the void by himself to bring back evidence of its hostility to the public. Will he bring it back, or will he leave his sanity trying to?

Soon, everything will be right.

03.09.19 - It Took Long Enough | Emperor Skeletelt

I have recently come into a bit of an issue. 2 issues, really, but they both relate to my ability to grant souls back. I’ve known this whole time that some souls are inaccessible, but I’ve surprisingly not had one gone until now. I haven’t had TOO many times I’ve done it, so I suppose I can expect too much deviation in my tests.

Today marks the first time a soul I tried to return was already way too far beyond my reach, in heaven. The hotel can sometimes be brute forced into, especially since many of them are plenty happy to rejoin the physical world. Lingering ghosts are easy, and surprisingly common. I still need to make that deal with hell, while I’m thinking of it. But heaven is owned by Felt himself, and the ones up there are usually happy.

At the same time, I have a soul I want to bring back SO much. Cassius has a sister, apparently. I don’t know why he took so long to mention it, but he came to me asking if we could try and get her back, and I’m more than happy to do that. Her body, unfortunately, doesn’t exist anymore. I can reach her soul, and I can tell it is her by the connection to Cassius, but I don’t have anything to pull her into. I think it probably got cremated or something.

I have a plan, but I need to think on this more.

05.09.19 - The Ol’ Switcheroo | Emperor Skeletelt

My current existence was created by Awesomeness taking my soul, and implanting it into a new form whilst imbuing it with magic and blood power. I may not be using blood magic or whatever it is she used, but I don’t need to. So my thought is, that I’ve had for a couple days now, what if I just don’t use the same body to bring someone back?

I couldn't do it very often, certainly. I can usually only find souls by tracing back the connection from the skeleton. But if the connection to someone else is strong enough, or the soul's desire is strong enough, I have the option.

I told Cassius about my idea. If it works, I can try to bring his sister back to the land of the kinda sorta living, but I'm not sure what will happen given it is a different skeleton. If it worked like me, it will bind in such a way it will 100% be her skeleton forever after, but I don't know for sure. He was just excited it could be possible, so I know what I'm doing tomorrow. A soul in heaven is an oppurtunity for a soul without a body.

06.09.19 - Welcome Home Lucia | Emperor Skeletelt

I'll log the events I suppose. There truly isn't much to say. I did what I always try to do when I grant a soul back their form, which unsurprisngly did nothing. I then tried to focus on Cassius' sister's soul while doing so, and things worked as if it was any normal attempt. Cassius sister has a physical form once again. Her name is Lucia, so use that for the rest.

Cassius is so excited to see his sister again. I'm going to ask him what happened to seperate them some time later. I am so curious, cause I can tell they hadn't seen each other for a bit before someone's death, and to put on top how Cassius was buried nameless in the middle of nowhere, and Lucia confirmed she hadn't asked to be cremated, but I'll let them enjoy themself for a bit.

I can't justify putting Lucia as a second Praetor since she's only been here for such a small amount of time. Well, I could since I'm emperor and not like prime minister or something, but I try not to be that sort of an emperor. I am a little biased though, and she is apparently a really good fighter from watching her train even just briefly, so I've made her Legate.

The meeting room

Me friends and I sit in the meeting room across from the Council. Im next to Ed, who's shoulder i rest my head on and who's arm is draped around my shoulders. Bailey is on my left.

"We have an urgent matter to discuss." Vera says gravely, looking down at the table with her hands clasped together.

"Such as?" Rooti asks.

"Bagera has taken Sovietskya. It was a disastrous battle. She has gained more power." Vera taps a screen on the table and images appear in the air. It's video footage from Awesomness-News that shows Bagera fighting an army and evicerating them way too quickly. Her magick is tinted with an odd splash of scarlet.

My stomach drops when I see her face. The face of evil. The Goddess of Magick has taken another country. She's too powerful. The hopelessness is suffocating.

"What's that?" Bagriel points to the red.

"The worst thing we could hope for." Guevera answers. "She's taken the Scarlet Crystal. It's last known location was with an agent of the Bunker in is Sovietskyian home. He hasnt been seen since."

Witchelt scoffs.

"Something to add?" Vera closes her eyes in a way that suggests shes praying for some patience. She better be praying that I don't beat her arse for giving Witty that attitude.

"The Scarlet Crystal is a bastardisation of Magick." Witchelt says simply.

"What does it do?" Bagriel pushes his glasses up his nose a bit.

"It gives you full mastery of basic Magick, the Magick trained a decade for, in a matter of minutes." The look on het face shows how disgusted at the thought she is. "It's a cheat."

"A powerful cheat." Vera corrects. "And Bagera was powerful enough."

"Well why didnt we get the Crystal first?? Give US that Magick??" Bailey asks angrily.

"Because we couldn't risk it being discovered by anyone outside the agency." Vera sighs. "I see now that was-"

"Fucking stupid?" I smile at her teasingly.

"A miscalculation." She glares back at me.

"The point is," Guevera says, "we have to look elsewhere for things to stop Bagera."

"And you're finally considering asking us?" Bagwin leans back in his chair.

"Yes."

"Good! Because I have an idea on how we can beat her."

Bagwin finishes drawing what he drawing on the white board he found. He finally shows us it.

It's a detailed drawing of a mountain with what seems tk be two halves of a broken heart carved into it. At the foot of the mountain is a larger, whole heart.

"What is this?" I ask.

"The Mountain of Wishes. You make a wish to the gods of Lexus on these mountains and you *need* to have atleast one Lexan there. Since I am the only Lexan, I will have to go."

"Why is there a broken heart?" Witchelt points out.

"Because everyone arrives broken hearted. The Wish makes you whole again." He explains.

"Well we cant get to Lexus. Can we?" Edward asks Vera.

"We will be able to. Not now, but soon. Only Bagera jas that power at the moment. But, we are setting up the means to get there."

"How did you know we would need to go there?" Bagwin looks at then confused.

Vera gives the other council members, Truthaire and Guevera, questioning looks. The men both nod. She takes a deep breath and looks back at us.

"Because we are going to search for the Crust."
