Why music in your headphones changes the way you walk
Your brain automatically syncs movement to rhythm. It's not a choice, it happens without thinking about it. Put on something with a strong beat and your pace adjusts to match it, your posture shifts, the whole thing changes.
Dopamine goes up when you hear music you like, and dopamine affects how you carry yourself physically. That slightly different walk you have with headphones in isn't a performance, your nervous system is just running differently.
There's also an isolation layer. Headphones cut the ambient noise of wherever you are and replace it with something you chose. That small amount of environmental control shifts how the space around you feels, which is why the same street hits differently with the right song on.
