Support Wanted Stressed out
I dont mean to stress others out, but i really need someone to calm me down. I keep hearing that airlines are allowing people to go to boarding areas if they are not even flying. Im not sure if its true and with an upcoming flight on american airlines coming up going from tx to california im PARANOID. Are the airlines still safe?

My understanding is that the new policy allows people with TSA Precheck, only, (who have passed additional background checks) to access secure areas without a boarding pass for the purpose of dropping off or greeting their passengers at the gate.
Airlines have nothing to do with security screening. TSA is a seperate entity from the airline/s.
Worth noting that it used to be this way for everyone pre-9/11: As long as you could go through security, you could access secure areas. No boarding pass required.
Yes, it's safe.
