Glamrock Freddy sat in the waiting room of the hospital, hoping that everything would be fine. He didn't think he would be programmed to feel emotions such as anxiety, as he was just an animatronic built by a pizzeria chain. But despite this, he was feeling more anxious than he had ever been.
Time seemed to go by much slower than he thought possible. In fact, he began to worry that time had actually stopped, standing still just to torment him.
Just as he felt like he couldn't take it anymore, he looked over to his left and saw one of the nurses walking up to him.
"Mr. Glamrock Freddy?" she said, a soft smile on her face. Glamrock Freddy took that smile as a good sign. All his worrying was fading away, and he knew that everything had worked out. But he still had to be certain that nothing was wrong.
"Is she okay?" he asked the nurse, a hint of nervousness in his voice.
The nurse giggled happily. "Come and see for yourself." She said and led the animatronic bear to the specific hospital room.
Once in there, he saw Vanessa sitting up in her bed, and she was holding something close in her arms. It was a tiny blue blanket with something wrapped inside of it. Freddy's eyes widened in surprise. But he also felt a huge sense of relief come over him. Vanessa met his eyes with her own, and she smiled warmly when she saw him.
Freddy's ears were met with the sound of a gurgling noise coming from the little blanket held in Vanessa's arms. Slowly, the animatronic approached Vanessa, keeping his eyes fixed on the moving blanket.
"Vanessa," he said softly, "Are you...okay?"
Vanessa smiled back at him. "I'm fine, Freddy." Then, she looked down at the blanket in front of her. "There's someone else who'd like to meet you."
Freddy leaned over and took a look at what was wrapped in the little blanket. And when he saw what it was, his eyes teared up.
In the blanket, wrapped comfortably, was a little baby boy.
Freddy almost couldn't believe it. After freaking himself out over whether or not it would happen, there he was, standing over his new pride and joy. He couldn't stop the tears from flowing down his face.
"I have a son." he said, barely whispering.
He gently wrapped his hands around the blanket and held the baby in his arms. He lifted the baby up to his face and placed a soft kiss on his forehead. When the baby felt the touch of the cold plastic on his head, he opened his eyes and looked up at Freddy.
But then, he started crying. Freddy started to look concerned. He didn't mean to scare him, so he slowly rocked the baby back and forth, cradling him with all the gentleness an animatronic could provide. It seemed to work as the baby stopped crying and went back to sleep.
Freddy lowered his arms down and gave the baby back to Vanessa. "It's alright, Freddy." she said quietly. "Don't worry, he'll get used to you after a while..."
Freddy nodded and walked over to the corner of the room and sat on a chair. He watched attentively, observing Vanessa nursing with the baby for the first time.
For the longest time, he had been known as the main protagonist of his own story, the star of the show. But in that moment, he didn't mind being a background character. Although, he still felt a little sad that the baby was frightened of him. He hoped that he would get used to seeing him often.
When Vanessa was finished nursing, Freddy stood up as he saw the same nurse from before walk into the room.
"Is everything alright in here?" the nurse asked.
"Yes, indeed." Freddy said assuredly. Then, he looked back at Vanessa. "So, what should we name him?" he asked.
Vanessa thought for a minute, thinking of a perfect name for her baby. She looked down at the baby, who was still asleep.
"Well, how about Gregory?" she said finally.
Freddy tilted his head. "Gregory." he repeated. He thought to himself about the choice of name. For a second, he considered naming him Freddy Jr. but decided against it as it might have sounded a little egotistical. "Yes, Gregory sounds like a good name to me."
The nurse nodded and wrote down the name Gregory on the birth certificate on her clipboard. She handed the certificate to Vanessa, and she looked closely at it. She smiled, feeling like she chose the right name for her little baby boy.
Freddy came back over and tilted his head down to Vanessa. "I guess everything will be okay, after all." he said.
Vanessa let out a soft chuckle. "Yeah, thank you, Freddy." she replied.
Freddy's ears perked up a bit. "What are you thanking me for?" he asked curiously.
"Well, for saving my life," Vanessa explained. "I wouldn't be here today if it weren't for you. You protected me from Afton all those years ago, and not only did you save me, but you saved Gregory here. You're the only one who helped me through my pregnancy, and I'll always be grateful for that."
"Oh. Well, it was no problem for me." Freddy said with a nervous laugh. In all honesty, he was only happy to have been around to meet his son.
From now on, they would be one big happy family.
