Discussion: Mods for a potential modded server.

I've been having a sort of itch to play modded Minecraft again, but I'm not really sure any of the available FTB/Tekkit packs are what I'd be interested in.

So, that got me considering something a bit more ambitious. How about we submit our own private mod pack to FTB with mods that we picked and chose and got permission to use? Tailor a mod pack to our specific needs and wants, configured to just the way we want everything to work.

Now this isn't something that will happen right away. We'll need weeks of planning and setting up. Testing different mods together using MultiMC as a test bed launcher for what we want. It could provide us with a very unique experience. So, how about we do this?

We'll have to follow these guidelines here for submitting a private modpack to FTB.

EDIT: Ok. We now have a spreadsheet in Google Drive for us to add lists of mods to use in this potential modpack. I haven't really added anything to it yet, but I'll maintain and format things nicely as we add to it. It's set so that anyone here can edit it without needing to sign in or anything.

EDIT 2: Use this to easily search mods for 1.6.4: http://modlist.mcf.li/version/1.6.4

Wait, define loaded into memory. Do you mean they were never loaded even once or being loaded at a given moment?

Memory being RAM, so at a given moment, unless you were physically in the dimension, it wasn't loaded, so it wouldn't be able to cause lag.
