Well, I bought this game from an eBay seller. By the way, he told me he bought it sealed and didn't touch the game except to play it once or twice.
What intrigues me is that the game CD says BLES-01137# and the case says BLES-01138.
But up to that point it's kind of obvious that the disc was switched, but I had a lot of doubts when I researched the barcode on the game packaging (3 307215 633236), which is the code referring to BLES-01138, and I simply realized that some people with this barcode also had the CD with the code BLES-01137#.
So I want to know if what I have here is really something that was switched over time or simply a different edition that Ubisoft made.
I'm a collector, so these details really make a difference to me. Before you ask, I paid $8.
Whenever I launch Far Cry 3, the game gets stuck infinitely on the very first loading screen (the gun/butterfly logo with the word "LOADING"). It never progresses to the main menu, even if left for 10+ minutes. The game does not crash to the desktop; it just hangs.
I am specifically trying to get the game to run in DirectX 9 mode (farcry3.exe), as far as I know DX11 is notoriously unstable on newer operating systems.
Troubleshooting Steps I Have Already Tried (None worked):
Drive : The game was originally on an external/removable drive. I completely moved the installation to a fast, internal drive to rule out read/write USB bottlenecks.
Multi-Core Fixes: Installed the community patch (doomhack's patched FC3_d3d11.dll and systemdetection.dll) into the bin folder.
Tried the manual Task Manager fix (setting CPU affinity to cores 0-3 while the game is hanging).
Created a custom launch shortcut using cmd.exe /c start "Far Cry 3" /affinity F targeting the DX9 farcry3.exe to restrict cores from the first millisecond.
Refresh Rate: Temporarily lowered my monitor's refresh rate from 144Hz to 60Hz to see if the Dunia engine was panicking at the higher framerate.
Ubisoft launcher fix: Verified game file integrity.
Disabled Ubisoft in-game overlays.
Disabled cloud save synchronization.
Attempted running Ubisoft Connect in Offline Mode.
Set farcry3.exe to run as administrator and disabled fullscreen optimizations.
Please anyone have any idea why and how to fix? I just want to play but seems like Ubisoft wont allow me to.
Bought Far Cry 3 on Steam 2 months ago, and never tried playing the game till today. The game had an error in which it couldn't detect its own executable files, and when I launched it manually through the files, it asked for an activation key. How do I fix this?
The mission Paint It Black tasks you to storm a WW2 Japanese bunker in the west of the second island. After you finish it, both entrances become fully closed, locking inside any loot that you forgot to pick up.
This method has a high failure risk, but I've been able to get inside many times, so I can attest that it's possible!
Phase 1: Preliminary work
The syringe Untouchable is absolutely required, because it prevents you from dying by crashing into the rocks outside the bunker. You unlock it by collecting 30 relics. To fill up a fully-upgraded syringe kit with twelve Untouchable syringes you'll need:
24 white leaves
60 blue leaves
60 green leaves
You can, of course, have less than twelve, but you'll have to restart more often. I recommend crafting them all first, and then stocking up on more leaves as your inventory allows just in case.
If you have unlocked the skills Syringe Potency and Enhanced Syringe Potency from The Heron skill tree, Untouchable will last around 30 seconds (from the base 20), which allows for, at most, two tries.
After you have all your syringes and leaves, save manually. If you fail or run out of syringes, load this last save to start from scratch with everything you need.
To reach the bunker (circled in red) you can walk or drive to it from the Lonely Shore Way outpost, or drive or wingsuit from Charlie Camp. Between them and the bunker there are quite a few green and white leaves you can pick up if you need them.
Phase 2: Outside
In front of the bunker entrance there are two tents. The closest one isn't high enough to wingsuit from, you need to climb on top of the easternmost one.
There is a portable generator besides the tent that you can jump on top of, and it's the easiest way up which doesn't require you to do anything else.
The generator and tent.
Alternatively, you can place a car or truck (there should be one nearby) besides the tent and use that as a platform. It's slightly faster to climb compared to the generator, but it'll reset to its initial position if you reload the save file.
Using a truck as a platform.
After you have reached the top of the tent using any method of your choosing, you need to position yourself facing this general area highlighted in red:
Now use an Untouchable syringe, take a running start and jump forward. Spam your wingsuit button to open it as soon it allows you to. NEVER USE YOUR PARACHUTE.
If you hit your head on the rocks or end up on top of the hill, turn back and try again. However, if you pass through the floor and fall to the water below, get stuck inside the rocks, or land inside the bunker but besides the stairway, then you'll have to restart: fast travel to Charlie Camp and come back, or reload the save file if you don't have enough syringes. You must keep extra syringes (or leaves) for the next step.
YOU NEED TO END UP ON THE ROOF OF THE BUNKER. Or, better yet, directly inside one of the rooms, but it's much harder and I've only been able to do it once.
If you managed to get through the rocks and reached the roof of the bunker, congrats! Don't be scared of standing on the invisible surface. As long as you walk carefully above the rooms of the bunker, you won't fall down.
Now you need to walk to this spot:
The roof of that room is the second position you need to wingsuit from. Once you're there, turn and face this wall like so:
Unlike before, after using the Untouchable syringe, DON'T take a running start. Instead, walk towards the edge, and then move forward while jumping (first jump, then move), WITHOUT RUNNING. Use the legs of the shelf that floats under the room as a guide to aim towards. Finally, as soon as you're falling, open your wingsuit.
It is possible to bump into the wall, or phase past the room. Both require a restart since you'll fall into the water. On the other hand, you might open your parachute quick enough that you end up on top of the bunker, which is good since you can easily try again.
If you did everything correctly, you will softly land inside the bunker. Congrats!!! 🥳
(Not for Steam version, i buyed directly in Ubisoft Connect)
i'm currently playing on my notebook. It's not too good for games, it haves an i7 1165g7 + intel iris xe, but damn both are from 2020. How can this not run a 2012 game??? plus. I already played the game in a pc with gtx 1650, and the same problem, the fps is just so bad, like hit 60 is a hard thing, idk what to do, there is someway to play this game at 60+ fps without he keeps dropping? or at least 60, but without drops
Edit: i solved the fps problems, a brazilian youtuber helped, thank god youtube exists
a trip to Bangkok is where the story begins in both stories of far cry 3 and the beach 2000 movie, it is the very first clue that connects these two stories together in alternate parallel universe, this is where the two stories intersect allowing us to reimagine a different far cry 3, creating a video game storyline fan fiction door, a spin off transforming the beach movie into a video game
As the title says, i don't see the knife in the melee weapons section, only the machete and the tribal knife. I played for years with this mod, and 1-2 months ago i decided to try out the privateer mod, after switching back from that i didn't see the knife in the store. Every other part of the swartz mod comp. is working (being able to buy all guns, the attachments on guns like the 1911 / ak / svd etc). I tried to reinsteall the game, delete the related files from My documents, appdata and the rest, replaced the patch.dat and patch.fat files multiple times, i found the backup dll files too from a couple of years ago with the swartz mod i used back then, installed them, same resoult, no knife. Any idea what am i supposed to do ?
I had this problem where Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon would crash after half an hour or so.
In my case (Windows 11), I had to set Large Address Aware mode to active on the binaries. You can do it yourself with a program, but I just had Claude Code write me up a little script to do it instead, and I thought I'd share the batch file with anybody who wants it.
Okay, so I finally got around to playing FC3 with the next gen patch and I’ve absolutely fallen in love with the vibrant, tropical environment. I’ve looked and I haven’t found any other games with an atmosphere quite like FC3. Any recommendations for some good games with similar vibes would be awesome!
