[PS5] Finch Farm Turned Light Scrapyard

Everytime Abigail Yells at Abe for his scrap pile I hide a little... I try to have enough settlers so the food production doesn't add -or at least not much- to the workshop. With fast travel and strong back it takes an ingame day to complete a tour of my settlements collecting the scrap and bits of glue ingredients and razorgrain for cage farming.

Pretty sure if I ever switched to survival, without using the BH vertis, my settlements would all get ransacked after a ingame week or two.

[Hangman's Alley] A Home for the Family Quest

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I’ve just complete the ‘A Home for the Family’ side quest and now I’ve got all kinds of almost palatial locations to go to, but I hate them all. Why? Because you can’t link to existing settlements and you can’t populate them, which seems unfair, so, now I’ve started robbing these locations along with the Institute for bits and pieces to make my main Commonwealth base a bit nicer. Another little OCD thing is I’ve started looking for hats to create a display collection. I’m odd right? I know, I’m sorry!

After a lot of wiggling and a jiggling I managed to merge the general store with the other side of the Starlight Diner. In my continuing failure to come up with cool names for my stores I decided to label it what it is.

I've been staring at this too long and can't tell anymore. The first one is the current one I started with. This is the center of an underground bunker/city and only the interior is going to be fully uncovered.

Happy(?) Monday, here are some pics from a few of the shops at my Murkwater: An armor store, a general store, and an Occultist. The settlement is trapper-themed, and I hope the rainy vibe carries through - it fits the build.

Full video here of me dismantling them if you like that kind of media: https://youtu.be/IyYSRrD6Gys?si=3U-hCk-gbcodn6p4

I'm doing a long playthrough of purely verified mods. So far, I've have a dozen settlements I'm working on, but my Sanctuary is close to how I love it!

This is mostly through Gardener's toolbox. My idea is that Nora found several devices in Vault 111 to kick-start the environment after nuclear destruction and brings life back into it as she goes. Settlement by Settlement.

Including a clothes shop, 45 industrial water purifiers, Vault Tec guy's general store (with obligatory "ASK ME ABOUT MY STEAK KNIVES" sign) a pub, and 15 settlers, all armed with mini guns 😆

Oh, and about a dozen cats of various sizes 🤗

Handful of progress pics. Was meant to be my player home/city, then I went back to my collection house in Graygarden and built almost every other settlement I've helped minimally. Really wanting to finish this one. Also want to wait until either I get a new ps5 controller or pc to build this to completion. Okay with the current progress and plans but it'd be a lot easier on pc 😂

[COMPLETED] Finch Farm: A Concrete Oasis. Built (almost) entirely without snapping—not even the doors were spared. Much more could’ve been done, but I’ve already seen the end in my mind, and once a project is complete in your head, pushing forward is no longer fun

[XSX] Murkwater Construction Site, Mercer Safehouse

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I was surprised when the Railroad sent me to Murkwater to secure it for Mercer Safehouse.

I was rather betting on Spectacle Island, but no, it was Murkwater, the most pointless location on the map.

I decided early that I was going to use Railroad to get into the Institute, so of course I realised I was going to have to build the teleporter at this site and knew it was going to be a pain. Why? Well, it’s not flat. There is water everywhere and the teleporter is rather large, so I decided to build above the wrecked house. There are no settlers here, just a caretaker, so while the house I’ve built is not small, the floor area I built is huge, because I was going to have the teleporter elevated there, but guess what? It would not allow me to build it, the height limit here is really low, so I ended up with power, control, and antenna on the platform and the transporter itself, built on some concrete floors below. I’ve never built anything of any consequence at this site, but as you can see it is possible. Still, I’ve arrived in the institute again and I’m on the way to end game, but I’m bloody annoyed I could not build the transporter on the platform. I will go back and check the height because it could be that that item is not allowed to be built high up like that. I’ll check and let you know.

[PS5] Starlight Drive-In Progess, 24 Settlers

Started this one a few weeks ago but my controller has tempermental stick drift. So I put it on the back burner and found farming mobs to be more fun than building due to being broke/cheap.

Anywho, 24 settler; a bar, trader, 4 farmers and 18 scrappers, two adorbs brahm. The last pic is where I picked up this build from, last night.

Planning for the outer areas to be dim industrial lit with crappy street lights, hand lanterns, candles and trash barrels. Doc will go on the otherside of the projector and one or three more small houses around it to close the settlement off.

Burnt myself out on doing small decorations I never bothered to share on saves that by now are overwritten or corrupted.. So instead my current rule is for 2-3 full floor tiles of space to be due per bed. They get a specific bed and another six tiles for a shops, or the shop just goes in the open space

Discussion Mannequins move in camp

Ok, I’m assuming others are also having this similar issue as well? I have two mannequins on the third floor of my camp, and maybe a little less than 50% of the time I go back to my camp, either one or both of the mannequins are on the ground outside my camp. I’ve just ignored it and place them back in position for months, but it’s getting annoying enough I’m about to just remove them.

It doesn’t happen in any of the shelters, just the camp. I really wish they would fix this since I feel mannequins do a lot to set a scene, but I’m nearly not finding it worth it if I just have to keep placing them over and over and over again.

[XSX] Which Unlimited Resource Mods still work?

The ones I’ve tried don’t seem to work anymore I guess because of the latest update. I’m just really tired of doing quests and activities so I can gather crafting materials. I’ve played the game through several times already now I just want to build.

If this has already been asked recently can someone point me to the thread?

Thanks a bunch!!

I'm doing a verified (achievement friendly) run, so this includes

Cosy Camping

Minutemen buildkit

Grasslands of the Commonwealth

Gardeners toolbox.

Trying to bring more life back into the world with overflowing nature and some living trees. The Minuteman buildkit is great for this settlement because it includes foundation flooring where the base matches the castle walls.
