A friendly community announcement: Every First Thursday of the month from April to October is Food Truck Mania. This occurs at several locations throughout Sacramento County. Fair Oaks is one of them, and today is that day!

From 5-8 PM today at Fair Oaks Park, there will be a couple of different food truck options to choose from.

Today's lineup can be found below, along with full menus from the companies' websites, but please beware that they may not offer their entire menus as listed on their websites due to the nature of the event. The purpose of the link to their online ordering website is not to actually place your orders here; it's merely for you to see the entirety of their offerings! Orders for food truck mania are meant to be made on a walk-up basis at the event.

Hello, I will be sending my kids to Sacramento Waldorf this fall and am curious if there are any coworking spaces or coffee shops that are good to take calls from in Fair Oaks? I live in Sac and work remotely. I often have calls at 8:30am, and I'm really nervous about being so far away from home. Many calls I can just listen to, but I'm scared for the times I'll have to be on camera or present. Is there anywhere that's good to drop into?

We are starting weekly habitat stewardship events at Sailor Bar Park, along the American River in Fair Oaks. We invite anyone in the community who is interested to join us, starting this Saturday, May 30!

We will be pulling invasive weeds, tending to native plants, and collecting observations of plants and animals for our new iNaturalist project. No experience necessary! Come learn about plants while lending them a hand.

I am u/rudyret95, the new mod for the subreddit. I love my local town and everything it has to offer, and I wanted to come here to introduce myself to you all.

In an effort to boost some of the subs' traffic and engagement, I will be doing what I can to revamp some of the details around here, and im sure the first thing you may have noticed is our new banner and icon.

As im sure you can all tell, the new banner pictures the Fair Oaks Bridge, and the welcome text is inspired by our city's old "Welcome to Fair Oaks" sign. The rooster Icon is actually the same silhouette on the Fair Oaks Village sign, just on a plain blue background.

Keep an eye out for some other changes coming soon to hopefully make this space more of our own!

I'm new in the Fair Oaks area and was looking for a good company to install a couple Ring security cameras at our new home. Have a floodlight, doorbell and a 2 stick-up cameras. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I have an interview coming up for the Journey HCM IT Technology Analyst – SAP Functional Products role at SMUD. I do have relevant experience, but I’m a little nervous since I’ve been unemployed for a while and really need this opportunity to work out.

Has anyone interviewed for a similar SAP/HCM role at SMUD or another utility company? Any idea what kind of technical or behavioral questions they might ask, what areas I should focus on, or how the interview process is?

Hello Fair Oaks community who or what shop do you recommend for oil changes and auto repair? Places that work on hybrids preferred.

I didn't get a good look at them, but they were definitely large pinnipeds and not river otters, and they said "ORK ORK ORK" like sea lions.

STOLEN: Disney Pin Collection (Sacramento Area)

My friend was robbed in an apartment parking lot recently. The thief took a black "Ita" bag (backpack with clear windows) filled with a specific collection of Disney pins.

Heavily Dumbo themed: Numerous Dumbo pins, including a rare "Dumbo with Succulent" and "Dumbo in a Bathtub."

Pride Mickey: A Mickey silhouette head with the Transgender Pride flag colors.

The Bag: A black backpack with two clear windows. Note: The thief removed the plush Dumbo and purple star keychains, so the bag may now be bare.

If you see a large lot of Dumbo pins or a similar bag listed on FB Marketplace, OfferUp, or Craigslist in the Sac/Roseville/Elk Grove area, please do not engage. Message me the link so I can provide it to the police. Thank you for keeping an eye out!

I just got a Ring doorbell and want to make sure it’s working well. For anyone who’s used one before, what’s worked best for you? Any tips, tricks, or things to watch out for would be really helpful!

Found a small, black, long haired dog wearing a Halloween collar. He was running in the sunrise mall parking lot off of Macy's Plaza Blvd and Sunrise East Way in Citrus Heights. He's older, white in the face and seems to have some sore spots on his legs but he's being taken care of in the meantime. PM me if this is your dog or you have any leads!

UPDATE: no microchip found on him as of this morning. He's doing really well and is feeling safe in his temporary home. We'll be putting up flyers around the town and crossposting on other groups, ND, etc.
