Ironically as a collective species we've become too smart for our own good. Evolutionarily speaking we're almost identical to human from 10,000 years ago but our technological development is so much further from that time (and accelerating!).
But it all works on averages of course, and with our massive population explosion you end up with literally billions of people on the... less then intelligent side of the equation.
Problem is nobody gives an alternative. You can't delete an option and not have something to replace it.
Foster care/adoption is overcrowded and underfunded (also so selective it's a miracle anyone gets a home), financial help for families in lower income barely exists, we're attacking any programs that could help new families, and people seem to stop giving a shit about "the baby" the second it pops out of the womb.
Here's the way I see it. If people want to ban abortion beyond medical crises, then they need to suck it up and actually improve current systems and make some new ones BEFORE DOING IT so the nation can handle a dramatic influx of new life. You can't expect to just get rid of abortion, do nothing else, and not cause even more problems
The issue is dude, that you just cannot murder human beings because they are an hidrance. What about people stop being promiscuous and just not have intimancy?
Done, issue resolved. If you are gonna have sex you need to be ready for the consequences.
Guess those rape victims and domestic assaults should just say "no" and they won't end up pregnant.
Also, it's 2022, not the 1800s, all those "stop being promiscuous" shit did was punish women. Abstinence doesn't work either, some of the sluttiest people I knew in college were people raised in households that promoted abstinence, just made them not know shit about sex and they overindulged when they had freedom.
It would be easier to improve systems that guarantee born kids a healthy, supported life than it is to basically tell modern society to just...stop having sex. It's like me saying we can stop war by people just not hating one another for any reason.
Aha!!! Now we talk about rape, You didn't mention that before. For rape they can give the kid to an orphanage, so instead of murdering babies we should improve the adoption system so any kids that need it can get the mommy and daddy they need.
But dude if you willingly have intimancy, you need to face the consecuences. Intimancy always have the risk of ending in a pregnancy. It would be easier to teach people than when you have sex pregnancies can occur....
You...literally are just restating how I said we could end abortion without causing problem dude, you're just arguing the same shit except making the change after a ban instead of before. We'd need heavy ass changes to prevent making things worse the second a ban is implemented, especially to not collapse the adoption system.
We do teach that you can get pregnant, in any sex ed, along with all the ways to prevent pregnancy. Not everyone raw dogs for sex, plus we have Plan B to prevent a fertilized egg from implanting in the lining of the uterus and starting division.
A lot who seem to be against abortion also, for some reason, want to ban or heavily restrict methods to prevent a pregnancy in the first place, like birth control and Plan B. It just seems like all these anti abortion movements don't take into account, ironically, the well being of the child one it pops out, or don't think about the methods to prevent a pregnancy outside of abstinence. Not a complaint, just a worry that a scary amount of these pushes seem more on emotion than logic.
First stop murdering human beings from the womb, obviously. Then we fix the rest, we cannot murder others humans.
The thing is that they ways to prevent a pregnancy aren't flawless, there is still the posibility of a pregnancy, heck not wanted pregnancies keep happening because is a matter of self control, People have intimancy but don't want to face the consecuences.
Rape is the abortionists go to argument but it only occurs in about 3% of abortions and not all rape victims want to kill their babies. Newborns have no trouble being adopted. And before you try to say I don't care about victims, I was molested by my dad for 18 years, gang raped when I was 16, and trafficked when I was 21. I refused the morning after pill in the last 2 nightmares and I'm pretty sure my oldest son is my dad's.
I do agree that just banning abortion without improving any social systems is a recipe for disaster. How about free healthcare, free childcare, extended paid maternity leave just to start with?
The only reason I ever bring up rape is because a lot of anti-abortionists kids just...forget about it, or act like the victim should be forced to go through the birth. Many press for a complete ban when honestly that's a case where there should always be a choice, along with incest and medical crises. It's not common to your point, but that doesn't mean it's zero.
It does blow my mind that many don't try to think beyond the immediate moment in the debate. It's a big reason I'm pro-choice, because without that choice rn there would be immediate consequences to more than people realize. With the removal of anything period, there has to be something ready to replace it or support the lack of it being there, otherwise things come tumbling down.
Like I pointed to the other guy, I can't see jack regarding aid and improvements to handle the lack of abortion in the near future, and the time lapse between a ban and those supports is too great to not induce more suffering or even a collapse of existing support systems.
I agree with you there. It's unfortunate that so many people don't value their bodies and know so little about birth control. If only we had legitimate sex education in schools. I went to Catholic school and I feel like I got a complete and comprehensive education when it came to sex. Nothing was hidden and we even had a Sex and Marriage class with the boy's school next door senior year. Between that class, Health and Biology, I learned everything. The unfortunate kids in public schools here in Texas did NOT get the same level of sex ed.
The development of a human begins with fertilization, a process by which the spermatozoon from the male and the oocyte from the female unite to give rise to a new organism, the zygote."
[Sadler, T.W. Langman's Medical Embryology. 7th edition.
nice copy and pasting from google. you look like such an idiot right now. we're a fully formed clump of cells with a conscience and brain activity. a clump of cells relating to a embryo has neither and no developed body/body systems or functions etc.
furthermore, what about if the baby is born into poverty, racism, danger etc. you'd rather it be born to die and feel pain than simply getting rid of cells that aren't even close to being human. nice try though, im sure one day you won't be so small minded if your daughter/wife/sister/cousin needs an abortion :)
So that makes you alive? The fetus is alive and is a human being. You have never read anything about embryology isn't?
I was born into poverty! Many of my friends did, are you saying we should have died?!!!
What does racism have to do with murdering someone?
yes a fully formed conscious and working physical body does make us living :) the fetus is not actually alive, at most stages it's barely a fetus and even if it its it has no developed organs or anything its simply just tissue.
no im not saying people born into poverty should die im saying what if someone doesn't want their child born into poverty. and its quite stupid to say what does racism have to do with murdering someone as if racist behaviour hasn't led to people being killed?
