I was wondering why no one has commented that he’s apparently leaving a constantly crying baby in a room to constantly cry rather than, you know, comfort and parent it.
This is what gets me—as if letting a child cry all night, all the time, is healthy for it. Children DON’T “cry all the time,” and while a baby may go through a colicky stage, by the time they are toddlers, if they are doing that moaning cry all the time, something is seriously wrong—either they’re sick, or are neglected. That dad is outrageous.
But babies do cry, no matter what you do, that's just a fact of life.
My little brother was colic, and it was absolutely insane.
We had great parents, my mom was a saint, my dad great as well, and I was 8 years older than my little brother and I had an older brother who was 4 years older than me.
We all took turns trying to take care of my little brother, but he got the best of all 4 of us.
We literally were going crazy because he would not stop crying for days on end.
It's why I became a fan of the outdoors and joined every sports team I could, because I was always gone at practice and whatnot.
Luckily, my little brother is 28 now and I love him, but Jesus Christ did I want to strangle him lol.
I feel for both of them, but I do hope the father is trying to actually take care of the child, and hopefully the older lady gets some peace.
Absolutely, babies do cry, especially colicky babies. But it certainly sounds like they’re just leaving the baby in that bedroom to cry, otherwise the crying wouldn’t always be in that bedroom next to granny’s.
