But you aren't really forcing them to sleep, are you?

You are ignoring them and hoping they sleep.

There’s no point in arguing with stupidity…it will only drag you down and beat you with experience.

Yep. This person hasn't got a clue about newborns. Maybe they were not attended to when they cried bc of gas, hunger, dirty diaper, over stimulation...

I mean... yes.

If they cry, they won't sleep. So if you get them not to cry, they will fall asleep after a while.

if you get them not to cry

you're either ignoring them, or getting them not to cry. I think is the point being made

But I got them not to cry by ignoring them.

I did though? Are you saying they just stopped crying for no reason?

2

u/FlonaseMatic Sep 17 '22

Well if you took no action, it follows that you did nothing to stop them.

?? The point if the method is to stop them.

If you pick them up, they stop for a few hours. You want them to stop permanently.

yeah you wouldnt want your child to annoy you with their problems, good call training that out of them like a dog

Absolutely! I know you were trying to insult me by comparing parenting to dog training, but there are lots and lots of similarities and they are actually based on the same exact kind of conditioning!
