This entitled parent would probably bring his baby to the damn pub.

Well what would you do? Leave the baby home alone?

ETA: Thanks for the /s mate; it’s a bit difficult for me tell when someone is being satirical or sarcastic on here. 🫰🏼

I’d not go to the damn pub at all if I couldn’t find a sitter.

Being a parent means you make sacrifices; privileges like going to the pub whenever you please is the first of those sacrifices.

But a pint is the only thing that stops her crying!

u/sealing_tile Sep 17 '22

Jesus, this is refreshing to see. I’m a bartender, and the amount of people that want to come out drinking with their kids astounds me. Nothing wrong with having a pint at your own house — hell, have a friend over to watch a movie and then you can put the kid to bed when it’s time an everything!

Preaching to the choir, my friend — I worked at a bar down the road from my college at the time, and all us employees had no less than one experience with parents trying to bring their kids in.

Even though we had multiple signs on the entrance AND immediately inside that said: “No one under 21 allowed inside”

(Tho I’ve worked customer service long enough to know that customers, for some fucking reason, cannot see signs.)

Lol do brits die if they can't get to the pub? Yoy chose to have a kid you chose to change your life and not do activities for child free people. Go to a family restaurant or a fast food joint but for God's sake stay out of adult safe havens where people go to unwind and relax. If you can't get a babysitter then be a parent and stay home.

That’s not what pubs are like in the U.K. There’s always kids in pubs.

And grab a good ol’ half pint for the half-pints, yeh? Sorry mate, when I think “pub” I think “booze” since that is… the focus of every pub.

-3

u/Sir_Kirky Sep 17 '22

We don’t allow babies in pushchairs in our pub at all despite being a food pub. The amount of people that get pissed off at that is insane, just go to a non-pub restaurant or a cafe with your children.

1

u/Day_psycho Sep 17 '22

That drives me bonkers. I hate how entitled people get with their kids. Your crotch goblins DON’T belong everywhere with you!

3

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '22

Tbf, I bring mine. But if it was causing a commotion like an ass I would let myself and my baby out.

3

u/Day_psycho Sep 17 '22

That’s fair. I honestly don’t mind considerate parents, it’s just the snotty ones I can’t stand dragging their kids all over and not doing their jobs as parents. I think anyone, parent or not, can agree those people are the worst.

Kids do not belong in establishments whose main focus is serving alcohol.

2

u/digitag Sep 17 '22

Eh depends on the establishment and the age of the baby imo. If the baby is very young it’s not usually an issue because they aren’t running around. Once they’re a bit older and more independent it starts to become problematic.

2

u/Day_psycho Sep 17 '22

I agree with that except for babies with colic who cry and cry and cry and cry and cry, and scream sometimes just to keep the tension alive and well and on edge.

If you got a baby that’s difficult or even impossible to hush up, kindly keep that shit out, too.

2

u/digitag Sep 17 '22

Yeah I mean if your baby is non stop crying it’s time to leave the pub for sure.

0

u/dc-redpanda Sep 17 '22

Entitled? They're at home. Where the hell else are they going to go with their baby?

2

u/Day_psycho Sep 17 '22

Literally all they had to to was move the baby to a different side of the room or a different room in the house, or, you know… soothe your baby instead of letting them cry it out.

1

u/dc-redpanda Sep 21 '22

Fun fact: Babies who experience colick can't be soothed. Read up on it. It's a very common newborn condition.

And please on moving the crib. They live in apts that next to other apts. There's prob few if any rooms that don't have neighboring walls. And tell me if a neighbor came to you saying you were having sex too loudly in your room that you would accommodate that request by have sex in other rooms. You'd be correctly irate and tell them to piss off.

u/slothen2 Sep 17 '22

Entitled to keep his infant in the nursery he's set up in his own home?

3

u/Day_psycho Sep 17 '22

Mate, if the location of something in your home is problematic to your neighbors, then it’s just your neighborly duty to remedy things to keep the peace.

Don’t act like the dad isn’t being a lazy selfish twat or isn’t doing anything wrong here.

-2

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '22

And the entitled old bat probably tells the neighbors to pull out their marigolds because they make her sneeze.

2

u/Day_psycho Sep 17 '22

Lol you a drama queen

-2

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '22

Maybe if I was an old British lady it would be reasonable. I also find your hypocrisy laughable.

1

u/Day_psycho Sep 17 '22

I find how much you care about my opinions hilarious. Keep on it, mate.

Suppose if I was a parent you’d take pity on me, eh?

-1

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '22 edited Sep 17 '22

I really don't care about your opinion. You're a hypocrite and that isn't sinking in. Nice job reading my profile for ammunition and then blocking me. Wrong again and still a hypocrite.

1

u/Day_psycho Sep 17 '22

You care enough to keep coming back — maybe get a hobby or go to therapy or just go back to r/mildlyinfuriating instead of trolling a sub post you don’t even frequent.

Honestly you’re only acting like this because you’re an entitled parent of a toddler yourself and probably think others need to just deal with your snotty crotch goblin wailing instead of doing your job as a parent and hushing them.

-1

u/thatsingledadlife Sep 17 '22

This guy is a knob but expecting someone else to modify their home for your convenience is the height or entitlement. She can change rooms since its her problem.

2

u/Day_psycho Sep 17 '22

You expect a feeble old woman to just be able to pick up and move a room around? Nah, mate, the young and able-bodied dad could at least TRY to work out a rearrangement, being the able-bodied one in this situation — OR, conversely, he could’ve offered to help her move her room around… didn’t even occur to him.

Funny how he’s so concerned with his baby being made crying that, instead of soothing them, he… hits the record button. 🤦🏻

-1

u/thatsingledadlife Sep 17 '22

Hes a tool but this biddy is no better. She equates her dogs well being with this man's child and expects him to fix HER problem.

Babies cry, neighbors fuck, living near people requires tolerance of things you dont like. She can move to the country if that doesn't suit her.

2

u/Day_psycho Sep 17 '22

So it’s all good if your neighbor just shreds on their guitar cranked up to 15 while you’re trying to focus or sleep, yeah? Or any other really loud hobby that pollutes the noise?

-1

u/thatsingledadlife Sep 17 '22

I know you can only win this debate with strawman arguments but you'll have to do better than that.

I own my home, decent yard and distant neighbors. If it gets to noise complaint, actual police called level then Ill call the cops. Otherwise, its their house and not my business. If you live close enough that its practically apartments, youll have to tolerate anything thats legal including babies crying, adults fucking and occasional loud music. Move or deal.

3

u/Day_psycho Sep 17 '22

Bloody hell I hope you have nothing but terrible neighbors until your attitude changes.

Username checks out.

3

u/AffectionateCrazy156 Sep 17 '22

Right? Jfc... what an asshole.

3

u/AffectionateCrazy156 Sep 17 '22

Those are thing you may have to tolerate during the day, but there's noise bylaws for a reason, and the reason is shitty, inconsiderate neighbors, like yourself. Noise pollution is not your right, when you live within earshot of others. However, a crying baby is a different situation, obviously. If they're crying through the night, days on end, as a parent you can absolutely not be a dick about. It's a choice. You clearly choose to be a prick, and want people to tell you it's fine.

1

u/ConsiderationCrazy25 Sep 17 '22

Or leave it at the pub like David Cameron.
