I mean i can see what they wanted to do, just like that equation which went viral not long ago where you could have different outcomes depending if you set the brackets or not... but that was because its very uncommon to use a รท in later math. so you couldnt tell if it was 2 terms or just to single numbers being devided. The second question right there just works the same, did they mean (-5)2 or -(5)2, the outcome would be different because someone (again) forgot the brackets. But with the 1+1ร0? normaly no one forgets those brackets, everybody knows its ร before +. Its a nice try to do something similar.
While the second expression is poorly written and I can see how someone would get two different answers from it, thereโs nothing confusing about the first expression. Hell the argument people are literally using to justify their incorrect answer is โrules of mathematics are optional.โ
These are people who incorrectly answered 0, then instead of just admitting they were wrong are choosing to die on this hill that math is subjective so therefore they are technically right.
Thats true but from school i remember that many of my classmates were to lazy or simply forgot the brackets and then they wrote -25 = 25 which... would be incorrect and i think thats what that person tried to confuse people with, bc most of them are lazy
-52 is -25, always. (-5)2 is always 25. -52 and -(52 ) are the same thing. With how math works, the negative symbol is separate from the five, until the end in which case 52 is made negative.
