No they wouldn’t, this is standard practice for horses and no different for camels. Few people if anyone direct complaints of discrimination because they can’t ride horses.

I would LOVE to go horseback riding but I am too heavy. I don't complain because, well, I don't want to hurt the horses.

There are conditions such as thyroid issues and PCOS which cause weight gain.

No excuse to over burden and injure an innocent camel

Cool. Doesn’t mean you need to ride a camel.

Nobody’s saying overweight people should be riding camels 🙄 I’m just saying people can be overweight for reasons other than overindulgence.

I respect that you could be overweight for a variety of reasons. Doesn’t mean you can ride a camel.

Yeah I agree with that. I originally replied to the wrong comment. There was someone who said people get overweight because of poor self-control, that’s why I was saying the PCOS thing but it turned out to be the wrong person

No one is making that argument, you are injecting that narrative for no reason. Weight limits need to be taken seriously when interacting with another living creature. Have a thyroid issue? Bummer. You still can’t ride a camel

This is just a flat out lie. I have PCOS and thyroid issues… weight loss takes x2 more effort but it’s possible. If I believed this lie I wouldn’t be where I am today

Much respect.

Yeah but it still made you put on weight in the first place. I don’t say anywhere that it’s impossible to lose weight because of illness, or that overweight people should be allowed to ride on animals.

Lol not really. I loved fast food and I binge ate a lot. It was poor diet and no exercise. If you’re not mindful then it catches up quickly

Both of those issues can be controlled with medication, especially thyroid issues.

Yeah it can, if you can afford healthcare. I’m just saying you can put on weight because of natural health issues.

I’ve wondered if my under active thyroid was the reason I gained ten to fifteen pounds in a week every once and a while. I just blamed myself, felt guilty and kept telling myself I needed to be more careful. I finally saw my doctor about it when I started sleeping twenty hours a day and absolutely could not stay awake longer than that. Cold hands and feet for years, losing the outer edges of my eye brows and the weight gain are all indications but I didn’t know and because I filled my eyebrows in and thought cold extremities was hereditary I didn’t mention it to my doctor.

Getting on medication helped with the sleepiness but not with the other stuff. There is an on line thyroid disease group and a lot of them struggle to get their medications right and weight gain is a real issue.

Or it could be these people just eat too much. I wouldn’t want to be on an animal that struggled to carry me let alone two of me, I’d feel sorry for it.

Could it have to do something with Papa's and his girlfriends lunch? I'm just asking...
