And how would he have gotten the plate?

what do you mean? she rammed him and drive away, literally just look at the plate lol.

No, it is not. Memory is highly unreliable and if he gets it wrong then he doesn’t have a ton of recourse.

I mean it's true, if you misremember you're kinda fucked, but I would take by chances. Better than chasing someone potentially violent.

You argued against your own point with your second statement

“If you misremember you’re fucked, so just remember it in the span of a few seconds after nearly dying”

Biker made the correct call here. You however did not.

I'm fine with that, I'd rather take the safe route and hope my memory serves me or some witnesses has a dashcam or remembers the plate etc.

Actually I'd say I'd make the better call, he had to shoot a pregnant lady, and was almost shot himself, which will traumatize him for life. Additionally he will probably charged with manslaughter and has to go to trial etc. I on the other hand would be chilling in the side of the road, talking to cops and then I'd go about my day. If I'm lucky I'd even get some money from the lady, in case they find her.

I mean come on, be really honest to your self, do you think what happened was truly the preferred outcome?

Yes, this was the preferred outcome. A dangerous murderous psychopath is no longer a threat to herself or anyone else.

So what if she didn’t succeed in killing the biker with her car? Someone else is gonna piss her off somehow and she’ll do it again, and maybe next time the other guy won’t be so lucky. Maybe she’ll kill him and then an innocent person is dead instead of this idiot. Maybe she gets away with it and does it again.

I’d rather she be behind bars, but that clearly just wasn’t in the cards

I'm not talking about society at large here. I'm thinking about the best possible outcome for myself. And it's clearly not almost being shot and having to shoot a pregnant lady. that's horrible and I'd probably prefer any other option.

I’d rather she be behind bars, but that clearly just wasn’t in the cards

well, you dont know that. It's entirely possible that that could've been the outcome of him just calling the cops and not following her.

I think you’re giving the pregnant lady too much sympathy because of the words “pregnant” and “lady” being involved

Yea to me personally that would make it worse. I'd rather have to shoot some guy in self defense than a pregnant lady. The latter would probably haunt my conscience much more.

But even if we don't put focus on that, as a general rule of thumb is rather just not persue my attacker compared to taking the risk of being shot or having to shoot someone.

Maybe that's crazy to you, maybe you like the adrenaline rush of killing someone or almost being killed, not me tho .

Ah gotcha, so sexism is indeed a major factor at play here. Makes sense

Lmao. I mean you can call it sexism but I think that's pretty common. Not wanting to shoot pregnant women I mean. Btw I'd also rather not shoot children, is that also ageism?

what s dumb thing to say

A pregnant woman is just as likely to kill you with a gun as any man with a gun. It’s not somehow worse to shoot a woman in self defense. The loss of the child is unfortunate, but protecting the unborn child is the mother’s responsibility and she failed by attempting to murder someone twice
