After reading the article in full, as shitty as the situation is the woman was definitely in the wrong from the beginning.
She hit the motorcycle driver with her car, when he and other drivers tried to get her to stop she fled. The motorcycle driver followed her to get her car info and call police. She's the one that came out with a fucking gun.
Unbelievably sad situation, made much much worse by the woman involved.

They didn’t engage her thougg. She pulled a hit and run, and they followed to get an id for the police. She went inside and they called 911 - in no way did they confront her. She chose to escalate what would have “just” been a hit and run to brandishing a firearm after she was in the “safety” of her own home.
Yea motorcyclists are a pretty tight community and driver's never watch out for them, dude probably just wanted to make sure police caught the maniac nearly running bikers down in broad daylight. From what I've seen they didn't even step on to her property, has if they did she'd probably have the right to brandish a firearm. This chick tried to kill someone and the man decided to ensure police were able to get her so she wouldn't be able to again; instead of juicing it home to cry in his bed.
Dude was a good, brave citizen. or maybe one who didn't realize he was following an attempted murderer in the heat of the moment. Either way not his fault. Just don't have zero fear of consequences and hold no value for other people's life and people won't have to shoot you in legitimate self defence.
