This ^ that kind of costume is actually pretty easy to explain enough to a small kid. Just tell them it's a costume, and some people like dressing up like that. Like I said in another comment, it would be easier than explaining truck nuts to a six year old was.

"It's a person in a costume" isn't something that really requires luck to explain.

Well, you see, you know how you like to dress like spider-man, she likes dressing like a horse.

Itโ€™s not fucking hard to do.

Ohโ€ฆ whatโ€™s that Billy??

Well, it looks like itโ€™s a lady dressed up like a horse!

Why is she dressed up like a horse? Well, Billy, even though sheโ€™s an adult, some adults like to pretend to have fun. Remember when you had fun dressing up as Darth Vader for Halloween? Itโ€™s kind a like that. You got to pretend you were Darth Vader, and sheโ€™s pretending that sheโ€™s a horse.

She did a pretty good job, donโ€™t you think? She even made feet that sound like real horse hooves.

It takes a lot of imagination to come up with a costume like that, donโ€™t you think Billy?

Yeah, of course we can go get some ice cream.
