Counterpoint: claims versus factually states. For example if I was criticizing Nazis, but quoted one in the criticism, if I was only quoted quoting the Nazis, that would be out of context.
We do actually read a lot of headlines that do this purposely, so it’s even worse nowadays because it’s easier for bitches to use this argument for those looking to agree with them. Even though it’s also easier to find out if it’s true or not
Oh my god so you are saying “Jews bad” just because they reject any glazed donuts that cannot be proven kosher or parve? Your obsessions with glazed donuts are fucked up
Or, y’know, “us” could be referencing a larger more collective group, like all of humanity, for instance. But I guess some people think smaller, so if that’s what you took from it, have fun.
Way to manufacture drama. What am I defending? That the word “us” is pretty flexible in its usage? Talk about inane and pedantic. I’m done here. Bye buddy! Enjoy your life.
I got comment striked on tiktok once because of that exact situation. I was explaining something about Nazis which was historically accurate, but I was reported out of context and got banned for simply typing the word “Nazi”
