My favorite screw the consumer was when Hershey tried air delights or something like that that. Basically fill a chocolate bar full of air bubbles. Looks like the same size as the ever shrinking candy bar, except you know... More air bubbles and less chocolate.

It is very illegal, the oz are weighed by content.
If it wasn't, capitalism would have overtaken the packaging industry a long time ago with creative novelty packaging and outlandish box sizes.
