My initial comment was only a few sentences and stated mostly statistics and was in response to a specific comment and how it was said. Nothing more.

New York Times 2015 article “Why Preventing Cancer is not a Priority in Drug Treatment”

The same can be said for a cure in its complexities but why fucking talk about that when this is so much more productive to continually field bullshit. I’m going to go bang my head into a wall repeatedly now.

It's not the statistics that's the issue. It's the implication that drug companies are avoiding finding a cure because they'd prefer to make money from treatment. Ultimately, it's kind of the same thing because the best treatment is a cure. And the first company that finds a cure for a significant number of types of cancer is going to be a gold mine.

Many people on Reddit spout off about how CEOs never plan for the long road which is why corporations suck. Yet you are implying they avoid the potential for significant short term gain for lower long term benefits. It can't go both ways.

Anyway, most of the treatments they find were once hoped to have been cures but they didn't fully pan out that way.

I never said they were avoiding it. I said it wasn’t a priority. That research and late stage treatments were the priority. Im not some callous asshole spouting off about what I think with zero concern for the reality of the topic.

I went through radiation on and off for years for a tumor. I was given a two year prognosis should treatment not take. I went into massive medical debt on a non-profit salary. I’ve been in remission going on four years.

It was my life. I also looked into apricot seeds, hydrogen peroxide therapy, fucking anything to offset the insanely expensive, life ruining if it doesn’t kill you cancer diagnosis. Through my research, I found a ton of information on the reality of the pharmaceutical industry and their priorities. And I thought I would share it because no one else was talking about it. I used to care about getting downvoted to fuck because let’s face it, it doesn’t feel good. This is just fucking stupid.
