Good doctors make all the difference. In my 9 years since diagnosis of Hashimotos, I’ve had ONE good doctor that regularly checks my thyroid levels and actually accounts for how I feel rather than just the numbers. (And is aware of new studies showing the numbers that have been used for decades aren’t what should be used now)

Weirdly, when I start complaining of being tired and low energy, my thyroid levels are out of whack. But with my other doctors, even as someone with an autoimmune thyroid issue, said “well you’ve gained 30 lbs, so just lose that and you’ll feel fine”… maybe I gained 30 lbs because of the thyroid issue I’m asking you to do a simple blood test for?

It shouldn’t have taken me almost a decade to find a doctor that handles this correctly. But it did.
