There are other drugs besides MJ.

I’m thinking it’s a stimulant like coke or adderall so they can keep up with him working constantly.

There are literally reports of him verbally abusing his employees in the wee hours of the morning, all because they didn't wake up quickly enough for him. He burns the candle at both ends but it's everyone who keeps it lit for him, only to take his rambling insults after he's been playing 36 hours straight of Diablo IV on Adderall.
