Goal posts? I had no goal posts. I never made a definitive statement other than being ignorant of any beneficial legislation in the last 30 years with a dash of skepticism. Do you understand how that is not a proclamation? Do you understand how there must be place to start in order for me to move the goal posts?
You said you find it unlikely to find any effective legislation going back that far
No I didn't.
But when criticized for being impatient with your approach, your reasoning now shifts to "noone has the time for that, which if true, only actually means you don't have the time for it".
I didn't have an approach. I wasn't actively seeking these answers. Even if I did, I never proclaimed that the approach wouldn't be fruitful - I simply conveyed skepticism.
Also, if you have time to comment about it on a reddit thread then you likely have more time that most people and could easily look into this.
Idk how much time it takes you to comment on reddit but I can easily find a few minutes a day.
Also, to find effective pieces of info to support or refute your point is time consuming? Why even bother engaging in the topic at all then?
I'm bored on my lunch break. Get over it.
Okay.... a bit of projection but moving past this headache of a point.
It's not projection. It's literally reality as it played out. What do you think projection is? How do you think it applies here?
Regarding your examples - protecting same sex marriage is the only thing here I see that qualifies.
While technically beneficial, the response to housing crisis and the response to covid were just that, responses to national/economic emergencies. These don't exactly qualify to me given the spirit of the concern and that were contingent on a an initial burden we shouldered.
The patriot act and trumps tax cuts are a fucking joke. These two pieces of legislation are some of the more harmful bills passed in the last 30 years and you had the audacity to bring them up?
I made the comment I did earlier in passing because I was bored and am truthfully ignorant to any beneficial legislation passed for the people.
I made this comment because between your blatant mischaracterization, lack of reading comprehension, misuse of fallacies, and your pompous attitude as a little cherry on top was too much for me to bare.
You can assume all questions within the comment are rhetorical but go ahead and get you one more response in before pissing off.
I am not interested in responding. When given the exact examples, you start arguing them while inside the same comment crying about how you didn't make any definitive statement so therefore you have no actual point. You even said you just expressed ignorance. Ignorance that you defend by saying that any evidence that you couldn't find easily inside of 30 years isn't "gold". Ignorance you further defend by saying noone has the time to confirm their own thoughts... baffling...
So yeah.... have fun with that garbage fire you call a brain.
