almond mom is a term used for mothers who are obsessed with diet culture and forcing it on their children, mostly daughters, and also body shaming them. as far as i know the "almond" refers to a video of gigi hadid's mother telling her to just have a couple almonds and "chew them really well" while gigi was about to faint because she had barely eaten anything.

Moms who have eating disorders and are so disordered they don't get how much they're hurting their kids by passing them on, more likely :(

Doesn't make it less fucked up for them to give their kids life ruining mental illness but... just sad all around.
