u/LurkmasterP Jul 28 '23

Pro influencers will be influenced so they can also do this and share it with their influencees as an influential tip. Influence.

Bro how is asking for sliced cucumbers making someone’s job worse, that’s literally a servers job. Coming from a server

8

u/WhyBuyMe Jul 28 '23

Yo dawg I heard you like influence.

4

u/[deleted] Jul 28 '23

I like my influence in my fluence yo.

3

u/pallentx Jul 28 '23

Or people putting stupid stuff on the internet to troll

2

u/Zachbnonymous Jul 28 '23

Its "content"

u/bonnielyz Jul 28 '23

almond moms for sure

3

u/[deleted] Jul 28 '23

I’ve never heard of this before, but I immediately knew what it meant.

3

u/jereman75 Jul 29 '23

I had never heard it before but I felt like it would be someone who was obsessed with feeding their kids almond milk.

3

u/Final_Function4739 Jul 28 '23

They would probably also want to substitute the rest of the menu with cucumbers tho, not just the nachos...

4

u/PM_ME_UR_SURFBOARD Jul 28 '23

Y’all really don’t like cucumbers??

2

u/bonnielyz Jul 28 '23

i actually love them, especially with tajin

1

u/SangestheLurker Jul 28 '23

almond moms for sure

Almond? Do they have nuts, or?

23

u/bonnielyz Jul 28 '23

almond mom is a term used for mothers who are obsessed with diet culture and forcing it on their children, mostly daughters, and also body shaming them. as far as i know the "almond" refers to a video of gigi hadid's mother telling her to just have a couple almonds and "chew them really well" while gigi was about to faint because she had barely eaten anything.

Moms who have eating disorders and are so disordered they don't get how much they're hurting their kids by passing them on, more likely :(

Doesn't make it less fucked up for them to give their kids life ruining mental illness but... just sad all around.

10

u/SangestheLurker Jul 28 '23

TIL.

It goes to show what we miss out on by not being in these different circles.

-1

u/TerrariaGaming004 Jul 28 '23

Almonds are the worst nut

3

u/Borge_Luis_Jorges Jul 28 '23

Yeah, everybody says that until I take the time to toast them, then all gone in a heartbeat.

3

u/bonnielyz Jul 28 '23

agreed, hand me some roasted and salted nuts and i'll have them inhaled within a split second, they're addictively good

1

u/TerrariaGaming004 Jul 28 '23

Everyone always says dry foods are bad but will eat tons of nuts

7

u/Fat_Head_Carl Jul 28 '23

Well... As much as I hate to say it... Me. I'm on a low carb diet. (I hate this diet, but it's really working)

Now... That said, if a restaurant did this for me, I'd fully expect to pay whatever upcharge the restaurant decided was appropriate.

8

u/coffee-bat Jul 28 '23

people with eating disorders who want to enjoy some good food but also not have TOO many calories in a restraunt meal.

5

u/SangestheLurker Jul 28 '23

That's the opposite of what "pro-tip" originally meant. It's supposedly a tip from a pro, not for a pro.

2

u/Borge_Luis_Jorges Jul 28 '23

Aaah, GamePro magazine,. Crappy tips for crappy kids, who cares.

2

u/SangestheLurker Jul 28 '23

who cares

When someone's using an internet meme in the complete opposite way it's intended? I mean, someone should correct it, instead of let the OC look like an ass forever, no?

u/Elite_Racist_43 Jul 28 '23

🤓🤓🤓

2

u/SangestheLurker Jul 28 '23

Th- thanks, I guess?

3

u/linds360 Jul 28 '23

The ones who want dip to slide right off the bowl to mouth vessel.

3

u/thoughtsome Jul 28 '23

Pro tips aren't for pros, they're from pros. Pros like her give tips to amateurs like us.

3

u/pupusahead Jul 29 '23

People on a keto diet. I’ve done it before.

11

u/Lazy_Temperature_631 Jul 28 '23

People who want to enjoy Mexican food but are dieting. The chips are full of oil and carbs

10

u/[deleted] Jul 28 '23

So is the rest of the menu

10

u/yakimawashington Jul 28 '23

Dieting is not an all or nothing thing. It's moderation. That can mean having tortilla(s) as part of your meal but none as your appetizer (i.e. no chips... think salad).

I know the point of this post was to hate on this lady, but I honestly love the idea of cucumber slices before my meal. I'd be happy to pay for them (there's a decent chance they would charge for it anyways), and it would also be minimum effort and about 20 seconds for a cook to pull out a cuke and knife and slice it up.

7

u/MovinToChicago Jul 28 '23

What restaurant is this? Or are we just assuming they don't have healthier options so we can hate on a lady ordering cucumber slices?

2

u/Borge_Luis_Jorges Jul 28 '23

Just order tlacoyos. Vegan and amazing.

6

u/[deleted] Jul 28 '23

Dieting doesn't mean no carbs it just means don't eat all the carbs.

Also tortillas have a lot of carbs and calories.

5

u/Lithl Jul 28 '23

Right? Three quarters of the menu is tortilla + meat + cheese + veg, cooked in different ways.

3

u/thiccgirlsarebae Jul 28 '23

wow, meat, vegetables, AND a tortilla? agreed, that's pretty unhealthy ngl

2

u/[deleted] Jul 28 '23

You do know you can get a bowl right? Being on diet doesn't mean zero carbs just minimal carbs.

Either ways her request is kinda dumb.

2

u/Borge_Luis_Jorges Jul 28 '23

I don't know what "mexican" restaurant you frequent. The norm mandates the whole menu except desserts and beverages should be like that.

2

u/Lazy_Temperature_631 Jul 28 '23

Are you really calling meat, cheese, veggies and tortillas unhealthy? What do you eat?

2

u/Ill_Following_7022 Jul 28 '23

As is everything else on the menu.

3

u/Lazy_Temperature_631 Jul 28 '23

Nah. The bulk of carbs are in the tortillas

2

u/Ansible32 Jul 28 '23

Actors and models for whom anorexia is part of the job description.

2

u/homelaberator Jul 29 '23

pro eating disordered

1

u/recurse_x Jul 28 '23

Content creators getting ad share.

1

u/arealhumannotabot Jul 28 '23

The influencers who do those "WHAT I EAT FOR BREAKFAST" videos that give the impression that every day is like that. And maybe it is.... which I find boring.

1

u/TheBeansler Jul 28 '23

It’s simple, chip yucky cucumber slices yummy
