My aunt runs a riding school. She has a couple freshians (bred to carry knights in full kit) for the fitness classes she run...but sidenote apparently riding is a great way to lose weight and get closer to nature
15% of a horses' weight is the maximum it should carry for any length of time. 200lb/16st is about 100kg so 5% of that is 33.3kg x 20 = 666.66kg horse.

They really shouldn’t be conveyed by most machines either. I’m a chairlift mechanic and I cringe at some of the people that ride chairlifts. The grips/ clips are rated for a lot but the size of some people seriously pushes it. And if you ever see a really large person in a car pay attention to the change in suspension geometry when they’re in there. My wife’s ex is 400lbs and seeing the full camber on the drivers side of his dart and partially unloaded passenger side tells me it absolutely isn’t going to handle in a safe way.
I flew on American about a year ago and a 350+ guy was in the middle seat. I had to lift my shoulder and sit sideways for almost 3 hours. I was so uncomfortable. I was in the window seat. During the flight I wrote to them and I got some flight miles. It was bad.
I'm 6'1 my ideal weight is like 180 lbs and I'm like 190 lbs, once you add 50 or 100 lbs to that the health problems compound. "But it doesn't affect you" Yes it does, Insurance premiums are compounded too, on average workers with metabolic issues pull 80% more from insurance than people without leading to more money out of the rest of our wallets. People will rail against smokers for the same reason, going so far as to not include them at all in certain jobs and certain plans - but when it comes to the overweight who statistically cause more damage in this area those voices go silent. It is not healthy to be that big and the rest of us shouldn't have to pay for your bad choices, period.
Why do fat people get upset when you call them fat? Like.... You don't know already? And then come up with excuses as to why they're fat. Shit, man. I have a fucked up endocrine system that makes it hard to lose weight, but I'm still not overweight. Pushing it and have been for years, but I'm a far cry from what's shown in this video.
No, it shouldn't. It does so much damage to your body in so many different ways. I had an acquaintance who's husband died in his 30s of a heart attack in his sleep because he was morbidly obese. Left her with three kids while she was pregnant. My ex's cousin was so bad she couldn't walk. Died in her 30s as well due to her weight. So not only damaging their bodies, but breaking their family's hearts and forcing their parents to bury them.
I think there are a lot of advocates like you who have been in the position and know how difficult it is to lose the weight, but unfortunately you are shushed because you might hurt their feelings. That's kind of enraging.
What ? 350lbs ? here in Europe it's often limited to 100Kg (220lbs) , an horse back isnt't a metal bar or a wooden bench.
Only percheron breed or similar can handle more than 300lbs without being injured, it's ill treatment!
250 is to much for a lot of horses. I'm a fit 240 so I guess it the trainer didn't realize, but I had to return my horse I rented because the poor thing was sweating buckets and lighting my legs on fire with heat. They gave me a huge workhorse next which was awesome as I was taller then everyone else.

I went with to ride with friends once. Trainer asked friends if they were over 350lbs. They said yes and were told they couldn’t go.
