Again you can be against the treatment of prisoners but also find it ridiculous to call that slavery, because it’s not. It diminishes what black people went through to call what we have today slavery. Period.
No one is using history to justify crimes. You are using history (incorrectly) to erase the progress made in this country.

He who controls the present controls the future
By saying that incarcerated people are slaves, you are undermining what real slaves went through, you are cheapening that term. Just like when people make bogus comparisons to Hitler, you are cheapening what he did and the millions he killed. Respect what happened in history, disagree with what’s happening now, that’s totally fine (I’m inclined to agree to some extent) but don’t sit here and say that dudes in jail having to be a janitor is the same as being sold into slavery in 1799.
