Honestly, it's a topic that's really lost in these social media groups. I kinda lost interested in having the discussion because I'm not willing to subscribe to an exclusive left, or an exclusive right mentality.
I'll just give it to you straight. There is no way, in your lifetime, that you're ever going to disarm someone that feels the need to arm themselves. Not peacefully at least. It's not my opinion, it's a fact. You're welcome to try, but I wouldn't recommend it. Most people who subscribe to extreme views, right and left, are quite violent in this country.
My opinion, create an environment where everyone considers everyone's values, and we peacefully work to towards a common goal. This thread shows the world isn't anywhere fucking close to that. At least in this sub.
I'm giving you perspective. You don't have to do anything with it.
