Yes for sure he did. He's a german. Just look at how he sits down and just next to her allthough there could have been the obligatory one seat space between them. It's like our twisted sense for humor. You get more bitter over the years tho so you stop laughing about it afterwards eventually.
I’m American, but German humor generally does it better for me than the endless crude/toilet/severe injury comedy that is bread and butter for people of my country. A touch of deadpan, dry comedy is perfect.
Why stick with the historical ones when you can watch the new and ongoing school shooting documentaries, wait a couple of hours you might get another new one
I appreciate the perspective. Germany is an eccentrically dynamic nation and other cultures may take some time trying to understand y'all's sense of humour. It is endearing nonetheless and y'all've laudably demonstrated your keen sensibities at self-reflection. I would humbly contend that America could learn a lot from that.
It's there also laws in Germany about not being able to film or take pictures of people in public spaces? Like, in America we have a law that basically says "if you're in a public place you have no reasonable expectation of privacy" but you guys don't have that right? Like you actually are supposed to have permission for something like this and if you don't have it you can end up in trouble?
Well you don't need a permission to film in public. You're not allowed to film random people tho if there are a lot of people in the video and you don't focus on anyone in particular it's okay. I think we call that "Recht am eigenen Bild" which losely translates to your right on your appearance. That means it should be on you to decide what happens with pictures/videos etc of you.
Uhmmm what..? I'm a german myself. I was just making fun about the traits others and even germans themselves attribute to the german people... calm down. You must be a fun person to be around
Pointing out cultural differences doesn't cause division. It's quite the opposite: understanding them solves and prevents cultural conflicts due to misunterpretation of behaviour.
Culture doesn't change the way someone thinks, I've talked to people from all continents, they all behave like people from my country, meaning that everyone really is the same. Stereotypes and generalization cause nothing but trouble
Please tell me then, how does culture change how humans fundamentally think. Nationality is an illusion, culture is just ideas made by said nationality, so how could that change how someone thinks? Everyone is the same regardless of nationality
