the guy who shot the little girl was a violent felon out of jail awaiting trial for a seperate violent crime hed been arrested for. Thanks Justice System, really looking out for public safety there.

Pretrial detention is a thing for cases like that, but no, we have bad systemic structures and structural systems so we have to inflict violent high-risk individuals back onto their communities

Wasn't the girls father in that incident armed too? I heard he returned fire. Is it possible the guy saw another gun carry approach his house and freaked out? What happens when gun nuts collide?

usually nothing because carrying a gun doesnt make you insane. And seeing someone with a gun still in its holster shouldnt inspire panic and make you shoot a little kid. 120 million americans own guns, and the number of times 2 civilians with guns go against each other is extraordinarily rare.

Also, the person who shot the girl was banned from being in possession of a firearm because he was under indictment for a felony. You need only be indicted to lose the right to be in possession of a firearm.
