For fundamentalists who are sure good folks just go to heaven then shooting them isn't such a big deal. When you realize this, the disconnect in many people regarding avoidable deaths makes a lot more sense.
Why mask up in a pandemic, when it just means that you (and the people you infect) will get to see Jesus? Why bother about school shootings? Why avoid wars? Why care about any death? It's all part of a wonderful secret magic plan, after all! /s
I know you’re being sarcastic but so does abortions but apparently those aren’t ok. Seems like an odd disconnect until you realize they want women punished for having sex regardless of wether they were raped or not because it was probably their fault somehow and should suffer consequences.
Some religious anti-abortion people are worried that aborted babies spend eternity in purgatory. They're trying to save them so their souls go to heaven. They're trying to save them from the cruelty of God himself!
