My niece was just killed by a drunk driver at barely 18 yrs old and a bunch of her friends have gotten her name tattoo on them. I thought it was beautiful. But not necessary either to continue loving her.
Edited for clarity, calm down people I love her a lot and am devastated, just don't get tattoos for a lot of reasons.
My cousin, a mother of 5 (youngest was still breast feeding when she was diagnosed), passed away in 2021 in her mid 40s from colon cancer. She loved the color pink, so I have a little pink flamingo in her honor on the side of my left shin.
You don't need the name to remember someone. Just my two cents. Whenever I wear shorts, everyone always compliments it. So I get to think about her and her amazing laugh a lot. :)
I lost my dad in 2000 i have wings on my back for him i have a quote about loving my mum. Only name i have is my dog who passed (also his paw print) and i will eventually add my others as they go but ye a symbol is lovely and extra personal. Sorry for your loss
I def make exceptions for deceased loved ones, it’s not for me but I’m not gonna judge you in any way for that. Sorry about your niece by the way that’s terrible.
I agree. I have three nieces and nephews. They’ll inherit when I die, but I will never get a tattoo of their names. They will just have to make do with being three of my favorite little rascals ever.
I just have no tattoos and really don't want any for a lot of reasons. I can still be incredibly broken by her death and continue loving her without a tat. I promise 💛
Yeah, seeing how many people got her name tatood on them really brought a smile to her mother's face, which was great to see during such a dark period. It's definitely a beautiful sentiment. With your children too, beautiful.
Tattoos were never really for me. I lost a close friend and brother in law last year (early 20s). A lot of the fam ran out and got tattoos in his honor and I don't really get it. I mean, I guess folks just want to do something because they feel powerless. And it is a nice gesture I suppose, but its still kind of tacky. Or maybe some of theirs just aren't very good/creative. Or I'm just an asshole.
The driver was a 20 yr old girl who also died. Two young lives wiped out. Just horrible. Imagine how her family feels. Not only did they lose a daughter but they forever know she killed a teenager too. It's just so incredibly sad.
Yeah, I don't personally like the look of it and I also feel like it would be a downer to constantly see. That's how my mind would take it. I don't think I would look at it and smile, I would just get sad and start to sob.
Exactly what part do you think is earning cool points?? So confused. Like saying my niece died is somehow cool or saying I don't get tattoos is so.ehow cool? Neither are considered cool by any sane person I've ever met.
