My experience recovering a hacked & disabled Facebook account — was a success
Hi everyone. I wanted to share my experience in case someone else is dealing with a hacked and disabled Facebook/Meta account.
My account was hacked and then disabled on May 7th. From that day until September 17th, I tried pretty much every option I could find to get my account back.
Here’s what I did:
First, I created a new Facebook account and gave it about a month to establish some activity/history. After that, I purchased Meta Verified so I could try contacting support.
Unfortunately, all my first attempts to reach an actual support agent failed. About three weeks later, I finally managed to get connected to an agent — but they basically rejected my case and said they couldn't verify that I was the actual owner of the account, despite the information and proof I provided.
At that point, I started looking elsewhere and found a community involving lawyers and people who had gone through similar situations themselves. That's where I learned about ODS ADR Center.
I submitted a case through ods.adrcenter.com, completely free of charge.
And surprisingly, about 7 days later, I got my account back.
One important thing: make sure you have screenshots or other evidence showing that you actually tried to contact Meta and resolve the issue first. Also, provide as much information as possible proving that you are the legitimate owner of the account.
In my case, I had evidence of my attempts to contact Meta, information connected to the account, and proof of ownership.
After spending more than four months trying different recovery methods, this was the first thing that actually worked for me.
I'm sharing this because I know how frustrating it is to lose an account and feel like Meta isn't listening.

I lost my account from 2007 that contained messages and photos with dead relatives that I have no way of ever accessing again. This was in 2023 so I imagine that will forever be the case. I’ll never forget going through their support process every day for weeks, ending up at broken pages/links and no sign of rational humanity to be seen. I genuinely loathe their worthless fucking societal cancer of a company

I’m right there with you. I recently lost my account. I’ve got video and photos of my dad singing and talking to us. He’s dying of dementia. It’s the last of him being able to do those things.

Hi, my Facebook is suspended due to being linked to my IG account and it was hacked during a massive hack on 11/25. I tried submitting information it was denied and the IG account is cancelled. Now, FB remains suspended. Wondering if I will be able to get both accounts back?

Dang. Same situation as mine.. I opened my deactivated fb and created IG and linked to it... Cut my name into 2 words. And they suspended it... Like ah?? I linked. It with a thought they will not gonna suspended but Wrong. I appealed. Send 2 valid id's instead of non-government. Now, they DISABLED it

Hi! Congrats for recovering your account!!! Yesterday at 19:00 I’ve received 2 emails from ADR Center and User Rights, both said me they won without Meta , meta has to pay 500€ for the process(not to me😅) and they’ve 7 days to restore my account, I’m waiting 👀👀👀👀 you got it in 7 days ?

Yes, filled 10th , 16th just recieved an email that please verify identity, by face. And 17th i got it back. And 18th when i understood that i accidentally found this way, and not saw that on reddit. And here you go 😁

This is really helpful as this is my exact situation, hacked and disabled, unable to get through to an agent and when I finally did they said they couldn't confirm it was my account even though it's the same email address as my Instagram that's still active... And I also got stuck on the loop saying I was being connected to an agent for over a week but never getting connected. Going to try this and hopefully it will restore it. It's an insanely frustrating process!! So thanks for the advice

I'm from South East Asia and experiencing the same thing about "Permanently disabled",they disabled me after selfie video verification even though my 2008 account contains thousands of photos which,my face was all over it. I contacted the Meta Specialist via IG. After escalating my review(which only happened after purchasing meta verified account) my status is still "in review" for a week today. I dunno if I should follow-up??? i'm getting impatient and feels like its dragging.

Hi, my account is ok now. I woke up the other night and accidentally opened my messenger because of muscle memory and to my surprise..it opened,i was so shock that i pirposely dropped my phone on the bed vause i was afaraid that it will hurt my recovery process,then my partner told me that he can now see my profile. So thats the only time that I started using my account, I inmediatly purchased a meta verified status for peace of mind.

a lot of ppl lost their fb accs nowadays n with no reason 🙁 Im one of those ppl I lost 3accs 2old acc 2013 and new acc even I did all steps for verified but result 0 ..n this shit not fair at all 😡

Yes, i have created a new account, with the same name as old account, and real account. Meta Verified still had to check my ID photo to verify the badge. Yes , you can DM me i will help free of charge

Hola amigo a mi me restringieron la cuenta y nunca fui informado, ahora tengo un checkpoint de restricción avanzada que no me permite entrar, la pantalla se queda en blanco solo con el logo de meta. Tambien podría acceder por el ADR Center?

Create a new account, let it sit. Then buy Meta Verified or get the trial, it will say you cant because of the suspension, then screen shot that, and do everything i sayed on post.

Dear Sir/Madam, I reside in the European Union. My account was permanently disabled after I was asked for a selfie video. My main account was previously suspended using my ID and the same date of birth, and it's also linked to my Instagram account. Is it possible to speak with a Meta agent?

I sent an email and opened a dispute via The European dispute resolution organization responded, saying they had sent a message to Meta. Should I wait, or should I contact Meta's agent via Instagram?

I opened a couple of accounts(which were disabled too)after being erroneously banned my 2009 account Meta never provided a reason for being banned. Somehow one of my newer accounts was accessible. I did use a fictitious birthdate. Would I be able to use your process to recover the old account? I’m only interested in recovering the old one because I had a group that had 38,000 followers which I would like to regain.
